Ethereum has grown 40 times in the last 2 years.
Monero is valued for its anonymous transactions.

I hope Decred is the most under valued currency now.

bitcoin is not altcoins and you added it into your list however my pick still bitcoin

because i think this year is the best year for bitcoin even the prices surpassing gold already

how did virtual coin make the list of the OP? I dont seem to get convinced with project.

bitcoin will still stand at the top for 2017, for alt coin investment, I see Dash and ETH got a great potential to grow in this year and in the next few years, Monero also show a good sign of surviving, if I get extra money to invest in alt coin I will invest in these 3 coins, but I prefer to focus my investment on bitcoin

Most Promising Coin of 2017? what else but Bitcoin and only Bitcoin you ask one coin so the answer is obvious but all the coins listed in the poll are also good coins but Bitcoin has a huge edge over all these coins.

5. XMR, it has large fluctuation of price,it is good for short time investments.

This is my issue with list like this, most of people making suggestion will be promoting their shit coin without any real justification behind the pick

ETC is a bold guess. Seems like there are a lot of stealth projects in development and there's a strong community behind ETC. And it's big in China, too.

I don't feeling surprised because too many the dash shills have made the propaganda for bitcoin. And the dash will follow bitcoin in the second place.  :-*

Of course the bitcoin should be listed in the top 5 best cryptocurrencies investment for 2017.

After bitcoin what worth investing is ETH which I consider the #2 cryptocurrency, after this I consider that worth investing DASH, ZCASH, ICONOMI (they are going to launch ICNX very soon).

There can be many other altcoins which worth investing but I didn't check them all as they are really a lot, but the trading volume on popular exchanges tells us what worth investing and seeing the results in a short period of time.

What is VirtualCoin and Bitpay? Bitpay is a bitcoin payment processor, but why it is listing here? Or it is an altcoin also named Bitpay?

I voted for Ethereum, and favorite coin is not on your list, it has huge potential to be top 10. You should add more reliable coins: Maidsafe, Bybteball, Stratis, Golem are all awesome ones.

exactly! they will be given an opportunity to advertise with their own interest we should base our pick accordingly and with its progress not just because we are holding some share, fluctuation with most alts are been done by whales and its really hard to invest and ride the train.

In my opinion, Coin which is very suitable to invest is bitcoin.
but there are also coins that are suggested for in investing: Dash, Ethereum, Lte, and monero.

For me, the top 3 are -

1. BTC
2. ETH
3. XRP

BTC and ETH are clear choices for first and second place. I chose XRP over the other because I see potential in the coin to pip over its contenders and will come out on top.

add bitbay and blocknet throw in some other alts that really have a good chance of making big returns too

for example if blocknet pulls off what they are trying to achieve then it will destroy the returns these others can make.

I don't know what you're comparing Bitcoin with other cryptocurrencies, I mean most of the users here will definitely vote for Bitcoin given the options. Other than Bitcoin am looking towards Zcash and it's making some impact in the crypto world. Every Monero is developing to be a good currency.

Will say that you need a coin for long term valelue (btc). 

Need a coin for anonymity (dash, monero, bytecoin, etc)

Need a coin for speedy day to day transaction (litecoin, dash , steem)

Need a coin for reputation / social media (steem -> steem power)

It would be nice to say one coin satisfies all these requirements.

Actually if you will invest in top 20 crypto you will gain profit anyway :) Everything is rise up!

The top best currencies to invest in aren't going to be the coins that are already top 20 or even top 100 on coin marketplace. Hunt for low-cap, pre-hype coins and you'll likely get the best returns. Bitcoin or Ethereum may 2-3X next year but 100x is extremely unlikely whereas a coin under 10 mill marketcap has no where to go but up (Unless it is just a scam coin).

lol, if you invest in top 20 you will get small return even less than your bitcoin that you'd invest, is better to invest in undervalued project
