I spoke to BayAreaCoins and have confirmed that it was the real BayAreaCoins and they have made efforts to completely secure all of their accounts, and they are confident that all of their accounts are now secure.

I am removing my negative trust, and ask that those who did BAC a favor and marked their account do so as well.

I've removed my negative trust too. Thanks for the verification.

I mean no disrespect to either of you, but shouldn't SaltySpitoon post their assurance in a signed message to ensure that they also haven't had their account compromised?

I'm sure Salty wouldn't mind.

Also, your neutral feedback you left me isn't accurate or true.  Please remove or edit it!  My bitcointalk was never compromised... I threw the red flag out of cation.

Thanks!

I can do so wednesday. I didn't feel the need to based on the circumstances, but I certainly can sign a message. BAC had an email account get hacked, and as a result warned everyone not to trade with them in case the hacker had managed to get multiple other accounts that they weren't aware of yet. BAC secured their accounts and scrubbed their computers to make sure everything was safe, and then spoke with me via video chat to confirm that they were still in control of their accounts, and their passwords were changed/OS scanned and wiped, etc.

I suppose there is a chance that a hacker could have got access to both my and BAC's account, so a signed message from me isn't a bad idea, but until I can get around to it, you can verify that my email/password hasn't changed in quite a while, and that I'm most probably the original Saltyspitoon writing this.

Circumstantial evidence of hacking in the fact that this user recently added 'franky1' to his trust network.
