Title: Armory App From Unidentified Developer Post by: B RAD LEE on March 05, 2017, 04:24:49 AM hello, im trying to get going with armory wallet but i just ran into another issue. I downloaded it, but when i tried to open it I got this warning:
“Armory” can’t be opened because it is from an unidentified developer. Your security preferences allow installation of only apps from the Mac App Store and identified developers. If you try to open an app that is not registered with Apple by an identified developer you get a warning dialog. This doesn’t necessarily mean that something’s wrong with the app. For example, some apps were written before developer ID registration began. However, the app has not been reviewed, and OS X can’t check whether the app has been modified or broken since it was released. A common way to distribute malware is to take an innocent app and insert harmful code into it, and then redistribute the infected app. The safest approach is to look for a later version of the app from the Mac App Store or look for an alternative app. To override your security settings and open the app anyway..... Any thoughts on this? Doing that requires that goatpig gets an Microsoft blessed and an Apple blessed signing key but without much real benefit.
To verify the binaries, follow the instructions here: https://btcarmory.com/docs/verify. Those are written for Ubuntu but should work on most linux OSes and Macs. |
