Since @pmartynov has presented the concept at SteemFest 2016 in Amsterdam we've become a team of enthusiast engineers ready to continue improving the app.

The project was strongly supported by the community and the development of the app was started. Since then we've been working on the architecture and core functionality of the mobile part.

Launch

Today we're launching public alpha test version of Steepshot Android application for Steem.

Our plan is to provide everyone with a simple and transparent way for sharing visual content and curating visual experience of other people. But first of all, get some feedback from amazing Steem community!

Steepshot is a platform based on Steem blockchain that uses the same economic system and the same coin as Steemit.com uses. So if you're already a Steemit user you can use Steepshot to interact with Steem blockchain and share your photos there.

Regarding your question about translation, this is not our focus as for *today*, however, we will most probably announce bounties for translations to other languages after the beta release.

Sorry to say but Steem is disliked by the general population.

The idea is interesting enough, but the main audience of Steepshot is a Steem social network users and their number is not too much is growing in recent time. And the interest to the Steem social network of the new users has decreased, due to the strong Steem and Steed Dollar fall. However, I will watch for the development of Steepshot project.

Great to hear that! Although the price of Steem is indeed falling down, we believe Steem blockchain is currently undervalued and still has a huge growing potential.

Steemit.com currently has now close to a million monthly unique visitors per month, the daily number of transactions in Steem blockchain is around 140 000 and this number is still going up. The number of users is also growing on a daily basis. So we think the journey has just started.

If the Steem price still falls and the flow of new users will increase steadily, this may lead to investors re-buying cheap coins on exchanges. This will stimulate the growth of popularity and spur new users and investors. In this case, Steepshot as well as many Steem-based projects will have a great future.

I am too following STEEM blockchain for long time. This is new application separate from Steemit.com? - this for me is very interesting potential. STEEM token can back many type of social media platform? - this for me seems to drive STEEM demand further  

This is interesting. There some very nice photos on the app thst make me want to comment on them so I see thst is app is working. Thst is good I think k it's a nice way to share the things around you or even show others differences between their countries and cultures.

This is really interesting. Needs some more people here on the thread though. I have the app it is cool but needs more users.
There is such potential here. I love the new ideas devs are coming up with. It's just the Dev does not appear very active. :(

It's a nice idea but you not here why ? Don't you believe in your project ? I installed the app and it's nice and I logged in just fine but I can't seem to upload it sits and sits and does nothing . Just watch the loading bar and that's it does nothing.

Hello! Is it possible to post images to Steepshot without re-posting it to Steemit/Golos? If not, will it be possible in future?
I ask this question because some users suspect spam or that's just annoying to them - photo content without text or small text.
What do you think?
