Title: Rig & Wiring Set up Question
Post by: lightlord on April 20, 2013, 02:13:13 PM
I have in Total 6X7950, 4X6870(Special Edition 2 cores per board), 2X7970.

My question is, I like to run all the rigs into one room, but that would blow
the 1500 Watt limit circuit of that particular room. So is it possible
to split the heater 240 V, into 2X120 V lines? And use that to power my rigs?
With wiring? Is there any instructions online on a way to do this?

Best regards
Lightlord

I would guess that a 240V outlet would have a higher ampere circuit breaker attached to it. If so, a lot of computer power supplies are capable of handling 240V. Example:

Almost all modern PSUs can handle 240V (internationally almost all countries used 240V. the US is one of the few 120V standard countries). It sounds like it isn't a standard outlet though? I'd be wary of a DIY mod on high current wiring.
