Title: Mining at Work
Post by: minershep on March 08, 2017, 04:35:32 PM
Hi, am new to the forum.
I have been mining Nxs on my work server for the last week, but nothing is going in to my wallet????
There is a Juniper firewall that runs on the network, but i have been through the settings and logs and nothing is getting blocked.
The .bat file runs, connects and i get the usual information in CMD, but never anything in my wallet back at home.
Any idea what I'm doing wrong???

Many thanks

Check pool settings, what you've been paid by the pool, and if a payout was sent. If a payout was sent, is your receiving address correct to your wallet?

Lets not jump to conclusions.
Maybe he has permissions or its his company.

A friend of mine is also mining at work, but its his brother's company and he knows about it  8)

he said "work".. very seldom does an owner of a company refer to their own company as "work".

also.. just because company A allows it, does not mean company B thru Z will allow it.

the ethical thing to do, is not use company resources to mine cryto-coin.
unless you have it in writing that it's part of your compensation.

If you don't have it in writing, there are several things that can happen.
-you have to turn over all mined coins to company because you used company resources.. just like any work you do on company time/resources, the company has full rights to ownership (standard blurb when you work for an engineering firm or such.. normally in the employee contract you sign)
-you are fired because you stole company resources.
-you are suspended per further investigation

The safest thing to do, is to not do it on company resources/time... unless you have written (or email) permission to do so and they fully understand what you are doing with company resources.

cause if you screw up or piss off the wrong person, it can be used as leverage to fire you.
