Title: Brute Force Encrypted Wallet Post by: FergusC on April 21, 2013, 02:21:49 AM I seem to be having problems with unencrypting my local wallet. Not much in it (1.34BTC), but I would still like to get it back. Does anyone have any recommendations or a detailed guide on how to brute force or crack the wallet? I tried following recommendations in other threads but it is not working for me - maybe with some tweaking I could run the script but I would need some help.
I thought I knew the password as it is one I used before in college - I can only presume I mistyped something when encrypting the file for the first time. If someone can crack it easily I would give them the .34 BTC as a small thank you. I have an idea of the length of the pass, the random symbol used and the numbers. Any takers? have a decent idea of the possible combinations.
