Title: Whats a 20 word mnemonic for? Post by: roland808 on March 11, 2017, 03:01:25 PM I found an old notepad file on my pc from 2014.
it has "bitcoin nmemonic" and then 20 random words on the next line and what looks like a blockchain.info wallet id on the next. So can I recover the wallet with this? blockchain.info recovery only asks for 12 words though so Im confused. Title: Re: Whats a 20 word mnemonic for? The modern 12 word mnemonic at blockchain.info is for a wallet seed. If I'm right (and my memory of 2014 blockchain.info is pretty foggy, so I certainly may not be), then you'd need to find a copy of the algorithm they used back in 2014 for converting a password into a mnemonic, and then you'd might be able to access that wallet. So maybe you got a few mbtc or satoshis in them, maybe it's not worth it if it's just a few satoshis. How much do you remember your balance was in that account?
