Post by: bitjoin on March 12, 2017, 01:51:38 PM
Have you ever thought to yourself you need to know EVERYTHING?

But there is not enough time? or is there?

Not really. Just know what is important. No need to know everything.

It's not possible to know everything, never going to happen..

One of the biggest problems with schools these days is they spend all their time teaching you mostly useless things but not how to learn things..

Knowing things is much less useful than knowing how to find out everything..

The key to being intelligent is not to know everything, it is to be able to find out anything..

Become good at research and how to find out answers to anything you may need to know and you will be in good shape..

Learn how to learn..

yes i always think to learn a lot.i study a lot and never stop learning .
well in this case you are right that we dont have much time and we ought to feel lazy after our academics, but if we keep our mind sharp and keep reading we make good decisions and be healthy mentally.

No I have never thought of that. I don't want to know everything because I don't like everything in the world. I just want to learn what I like.

Yes, I like to know things. Knowledge brings me some sort of calmness and confidence.

Yes, it's impossible to know everything. It is necessary to draw only useful and necessary knowledge for yourself, because everything is not enough for life.

No. cause everythings happens for a reason. No one will know everything even if he/she is a genius except God.

You do not need to know everything, you need to choose only what you need and what is interesting, because in order to learn the information you need time.

This.

Learn what stimulates and interests you, no need to learn everything.

Well I haven't though about that just yet. I mean what would I do if ever I know everything right? It would be nice though I really won't have any use for it. Yeah I'll have advantage over pretty much anyone but knowing everything means that you won't have anything to learn so that would make life a bit exciting. I'd love to learn things at a time and gather experiences as I do it

I love to learn. But I find that the more you know about any given topic, the more you become aware that there are vast swathes of information that you don't know. So if you think you know 1/10 of something, by the time you get to 2/10 you realise it's actually 2/100... and by the time you get to 3/100 you realise it's 3/1000 etc. To know all of something, it has to be a really specialised niche. I don't think that there can be true polymaths any more - human knowledge has reached the point (is well beyond the point) where it has to be distributed.

Learn what stimulates and interests you, no need to learn everything.

Besides. It is very difficult to learn all the things that happen between nanoseconds.

Its good to know about as many things as possible.

That`s true. The more you know, the less you have to believe in what people tell you to manipulate you.

And the more you are driven to drink because of your hopeless task of knowing it all.

Yes I particularly want to know everything around me and how they work even though it isn't possible but I've had that desire a couple of times.

The more you learn the more you realise how much you don't know :)  - sad but true

Yes I have, it's kinda depressing when you think of all the knowledge in the universe that we'll never ever come close to learning.

However then every time I think of the legend of Icarus or that woman from the last Indiana Jones movie who wanted to know everything and got her brain overloaded and fried by information or sth. Maybe ultimate knowledge just isn't meant for us mortal humans.

Once and indeed there was no time , so I think instead of learning to know everything, better learn as much as possible  ;D

No. As the saying goes, 'ignorance is bliss'.
