Hello everyone,
As many Sapphire RX 470 users here, Their memory types are as we all know; SAMSUNG, ELPIDA , HYNIX (maybe one more but not much).
I have several 4 GB versions of them (Sapphire RX470 4 GB Nitro+). No Backplate version


As far as i know, there are alt versions of the same VRAM type (I am talking about only Sapphire RX470 4 GB Nitro+ Only).
For example SAMSUNG VRAM:

When i save my card's bios and i open these in Polaris BIOS Editor;

As you can see, My BIOS - SAMSUNG VRAM - My SubID is E353

Here is Anoraks Orjinal BIOS ROM (not overlocked or undervolted - and it doesn't matter. It won't change SubID anyway)

My problem starts here;

I generally don't like flash CUSTOM BIOS directly. Editing your own is the best.
First, I tried to copy straps (For Samsung VRAM Copy 1750 Straps to 1900 and 2000 - thats it).
Failed to boot - I had to flash back to normal.

Then I found ANORAKS ROM (For RX 470 4 GB SAMSUNG VRAM)
But i see the SubID difference here.
I didn't know that could happen.

I couldn't flash ANORAKS ROM to my Card. When i try, Atiflash says "atiflash subsystem id mismatch".

Then i tried with these settings:
atiflash -unlockrom 0
atiflash -p 0 -f bios.rom

Flashed successful but failed to boot again. ??? ??? ???

I said "OK. I deal with it later. I have HYNIX VRAM too. Lets try that."
Then same thing happened again. ANORAKS SubID: E347 My HYNIX SubID: E353

I tried to flash it, failed again.
BTW nothing special about ANORAKS ROMs. (I tried orginals)
Then i said "Lemme try ANORAKS Powersave ROMs"
Failed again.

And i searched but i couldn't find and CUSTOM ROM for E353 SubID (both Samsung and Hynix VRAMs)

I need help because i want to mine with SimpleMining OS. But i can't undervolt them like in windows. Claymore "-mvddc -cvddc" or with OC Tunes like Trixx, etc.

First off you have the Sapphire Nitro not the nitro +

The 470 Nitro has no back plate, no lighting.  I just recently bought one myself and have a modded rom running in it.

It is different card so do not attempt to flash any bios intended for a nitro +

Use atiflash to backup the rom not gpu tools, then mod that.

When you flash wait until it says "restart to complete update" not exact wording.

Should have no problem then, mine works perfect with the straps for eth mining.

I am using atiflash to backup and flashing not anything else. Yes i read the box its Nitro. Not plus  :)
Did u copy straps only or undervolted too? And what is your vram type

I made a edit to my post above.

Samsung ram, only do straps, no voltage mods as that requires getting into the meat of the rom and playing with a hex editor and check sums.  I use windows so I don't need to deal with all that anyway..

I don't want to stuck on windows. But i believe no pro users using nitro version (without +) of this card.
It would be awesome if there is custom rom with undervolted version

1 rx 470 4gb sapphire nitro...how much watts power for mining eth ...120watts or 150watts or more or less

1 power 1450watts green for 6 x sapphire rx 470 nitro 4gb and 1 rx 460 4gb nitro sapphire is enough???

my 6x Sapphire RX 470 4gb nitro (without +) rig - 150 h/s 1220 watt
but it can undervolt like 800-850 watts with custom BIOS but we don't have public Custom BIOS for these cards  :-\

for me in gpu-z shows 85 watts this true?or +20 - +50 watts more??

You should think +30-50 watts per card on pcie slot

this mean per card 140 watts is true??? 6 rx 470 is 900 watts???

Yeah, but for 6 cards a 1000W is not my personal advice.
If you have a power usage spike you can have problems, but since you said that you a 1450W you are completely safe.

Even with dual mining you can stay below 160W with some undervolt

Yea but there are no undervolted roms for Nitro (without +).
It would be awesome if some pros help us.

yes but how to do -110mV with custom BIOS.
There is no custom BIOS on public

Sorry for this late response.

You used my rom for the Nitro+ but your card is a Nitro(non+).
The + in the filename gets truncated when uploading it. Just check out the title to each rom group for the correct version.

Non + roms are marked with (non +).
