Just posted a little bigup to Claymore12.3 - will quote it below for some perspective. Picked it up cheap as fk. I also run/ran/running still a RX480 4GB Sapphire Nitro+ OC. Elpida.

But the price point is so good it does not matter. Mine come tommorrow. I had some last summer but there were sold. When I get them i will tell you what the ram is. Why do you think that 8gb is so much more important than 4gb? We probably have less than a year to go on ethereum. In this case, 4gb might last for eth. Are there some vibes that zcash might tweak the algo to a higher memory requirement? thanks. Zero coin is the first try at 8gb coin. It is in the best interests of AMD and Nvidia for a successful 8 gb coin Title: Re: Best Brand and model RX470 for Ethereum Post by: dumpida on March 24, 2017, 11:26:04 AM @philipma1957 Why do you think that 8gb is so much more important than 4gb? Yes, I think so. Once the price is higher then they can sell more cards and creat new cards with high technology to meet miners' demands and Therefore They will get double profits from boosting coin price and selling their cards. That's really a smart strategy . Because somewhere else (I do not really remember where) someone claimed that the mining market for AMD/Nvidia is so little compared to the gaming/clusters market that they do not really care about it. Personally I agree with this point of view, but I do not have any number. Personally I agree with this point of view, but I do not have any number. with the mining expansion of the last year the numbers are huge. last time I checked I figured 100,000 rx 480's and that was back in the late winter. look at eth alone https://etherchain.org/ 15th so 1 rx 480 = 25-30 mh say 35 = 1000 mh or 1 gh 3500 = 1 th 52,500 = 15th next xmr http://moneroblocks.info/ 55.6 Mh/s was is an rx 480 about 600 h for easy math network 60mh 10 rx 480's = 6000h 100 rx 480's = 60,000h 1,000 rx 480's = 600,000h 10,000 rx 480's = 6,000,000h 100,000 rx 480's = 60,000,000h so eth and xmr add to more then 150,000 rx 480's lets say rig size averages to 4 not six those two coins are close to 40,000 rigs so 40,000 cpus 40,000 psus 40,000 ram sticks more coins then the two above. there is a lot of big money from a lot of non- asic players 150,000 gpus = 30 million at 200 each If an 8gb coin took off right now 8gb card = hot Title: Re: Best Brand and model RX470 for Ethereum Post by: koody on March 24, 2017, 06:05:07 PM Sapphire Nitro, but take RX 480 4GB.
Title: Re: Best Brand and model RX470 for Ethereum Post by: DevonMiner on March 24, 2017, 07:52:07 PM My rigs all use RX470 8gb Nitro+ cards, no overclocking, a 5 card rig = 120Mhs.
If you're in the UK, Amazon curently have them at £199.99 for Prime Members ... the cheapest I have ever seen them ... only 6 left apparently ... as I just snagged a couple more ;D |
