Title: Xapo transaction to darknet dreammarket
Post by: auauauau on March 15, 2017, 11:00:24 AM
Hello Everyone

btc newbie here.

i have a xapo account with all my btc on it at the moment.
a good friend asked me if could transfer a small amount to a darknet market account, so i did without much thinking.

now im asking myself i my xapo account could be compromised because of that.

is the receiver adress from the darknet markets even tracable?
or should i transfer my coins to a different account/tumble my btc to be safe?

Thanks a lot for your help, and i know, i was stupid, yes! :'(

It’s quite possible that you’ve stumbled upon a Dream Market URL, or some other darknet market URL, which your browser seems unwilling to open. You’re in luck then because here’s a little guide on how to access and safely browse the Dream Market URL. Sounds fun

thanks for your answer.

im not sure if i understand you correctly; i dont want to login to the darknet.

my problem is, that i paid a small amount of btc to a btc-adress belonging to dreammarket. i sent this amount directly from my phone over my xapo client.
now im afraid that LE somehow could lock my xapo account.

do you think it is possible they see that i sent the coins to a adress on dream market?

or is there no prob because the receiver adress is not possible to be linked to the dream market.

again, thanks for your answer and i hope i could clarify my point.
cheers!

I guess that would depend on whether or not LE is monitoring that address. Was the address publicly available to the dreammarket? If so it's likely being watched. If the address was created just for that payment, like it should have been, then you're probably okay.

You could still get nailed if the owner of the wallet then transfers the payment from the one off address to their holding address or something like that. All of that activity can be traced on the blockchain.

Maybe move your funds from Xapo to something else just in case..

thanks, thats really helping me! if i remember correctly it said the dreammarket adress would be changing any 20 minutes or so.

but to be sure:

1,open Tor,
2.download mycelium wallet,
3 transfer from my xapo account to mycelium
4->my money should be safe?

thanks again for helping out
