Title: LIBERSTAD - "a little piece of freedom"
Post by: mrcash02 on March 15, 2017, 07:48:47 PM
Did you already see this site? They are selling pieces of land in Norway to build an "anarcho" village, accepting Bitcoin as payment method.

Legit or fraud?

Not sure. But they have good idea, utilize the source which have a potential to make a living, people who love a nature environment will move to there.

Well I visit the site, it's not really promising because they use weebly, there's no company profile and kind of a paper which show they have a legalization.

There is already one micro-country like this:

https://liberland.org
https://en.wikipedia.org/wiki/Liberland

They have own money, but they accept Bitcoin as money also from long time.

Another one is Enclava: http://enclava.org/ - but they accept Dogecoin :D

Probably is more places like this.. :)

I saw videos on youtube about it, looks it's really real... An independent city inside a country. They won't use the electricity and basic sanitation services of the country, that will be issue they will need to solve to make this city sustainable.

The only rule is to respect non agression pact and to respect others property. A full decentralized realm.  ;D

I believe it will only work with very evolved people, people are problematic and create problems everywehre, without some authority these people do what they want...

It seems legit. However do not take my word for it, do your own research before you do anything on the site.

I would say that the idea is great, and the scenery there is pretty good as well frankly. But really these anarchist experiments have gone on before and most of them have either failed or abandoned by their owners.

But again, buying land with bitcoin in a faraway land... I love that idea :D

Looks legit but before purchasing anything you should contact them via http://www.liberstad.com/contact-us.html and make sure information they have provided here http://www.liberstad.com/about-us.html is true.

Couldn't find their contact number, but its better to talk with them over phone to get more information about them.

Guys, calm down. It is not so easy to make "anarcho citi". If it is territory of some country it always will be territory of this country.. You can take it only with force or they must give it to you. If it not happen, you will always have to pay taxes, use their currency and language as official.
Different thing is with situations like Enclava and Liberland - read about that and you will understand.

For me Liberstad it is just funny project :)

It's hard to comment on the legitimacy of the project, or how the Norwegian government will react.
I've always thought about moving to somewhere like Norway, so I will keep an eye on this. Thanks for sharing :)

Everyone can move to Norway and live there, but not everyone will like weather there :D
To be honest, that place for project is not good, to atract people it should be some nice, sunny place - in Europe it should be somewhere in Spain, for example Majorca or Canary Islands :D

I actually looked at it but what I would advise is any one considering patronising them will need to do serious and proper investigation in other not to lose money because with the acceptance of bitcoin, if its found out that its a scam, then there is no trace whatsoever and there is nothing that can be proved. Also, I will prefer todo transaction like this with physical presence because of the fund that will be involved.

What do you mean there's no trace? Transactions are out on the blockchain for anybody to see  ???

He mean, that we do not know whether the people who are behind this project will make this purchase or not.
It can be fake project, just to collect BTC and run away with all funds. I also have this same feelings..

I dunno. They promise things like people would be free from 'mandatory taxes and fees' and that 'you do not need permission to start a business'.  ???

Another thing is this:
Quote
Liberstad will not be connected to public water and sewage networks, and connection to the electrical grid will be voluntary.

So, not even sewage networks? You'd have to build your own.
And there's no water. I wonder how much all that would cost.

The place is probably out in the middle of nowhere and it's just an 'innovative' way of selling land.  ;D

It's like that in a lot of rural areas.

Seems it's not a fake project, it's running since some time ago.
It will be an interesting experience to see how anarcho-capitalist community works for real.

Quote
The city is based on the principles of natural rights, private property, self-ownership, the
principle of non-aggression, anarcho-capitalism, volunteerism and free market capitalism.
These principles are meant to govern interactions among members as well as provide
direction when dealing with differences. In addition, these principles are also intended to
govern the provision of public services by both individuals and companies.

In practice it will give you a piece of land if you wish to buy it...
