Title: anonymous web browsing
Post by: High Plains Drifter on March 16, 2017, 02:36:57 AM
Do any of you use a web browser that keeps your identity secret (IP address) and your browsing history difficult to track?  If so, which one do you recommend?  Thanks!

Epic Browser

Available On: Windows, Mac

Epic Browser doesn’t use a specialized onion network, but it does immediately disable lots of the most common ways your privacy is comprised when you’re surfing the web.

For example, it doesn’t save your history, there’s no DNS pre-fetching, it doesn’t allow third-party cookies, there are no web or DNS caches, and there’s no autofill feature.

I have had good results with Opera.

It comes with a free ad blocker and free VPN.

+1 to this. Opera has a very good VPN built-in, completely free.

If you're not looking for VPN protection and just want yourself shielded from 3rd party tracking and malvertisement, try Brave browser:
https://brave.com/

But if staying anonymous is your main goal and you're very very serious about it, try combining TOR with some VPN. Tor+VPN gives you doub;e layer of protection.

You can use tor for privacy and firefox addons don't use vpn they do keep logs of your activity and don't use windows you'll be safe. good luck

Thanks guys.  I was just wondering because some third party (probably a previous employer) has been removing my rather harmless facebook posts recently.  I'm trying to shake these guys off my trail

I think opera its very good because opera browser is familiar to many, and the majority does use it to surf the internet. It works on semi-open, and it goes straight to the point with its private policy. Opera doesn’t collect much statistics on users like other browsers do. It has a built-in
VPN which means users can browse their desired sites safe and secure.
