Some balances are currently being reported as lower than it should be, or even negative; Don't Panic! This is a direct consequence of the feathercoin blockexplorer going down for maintenance, and things should return to normal once that's back again. Meanwhile I will think about a redesign that is less susceptible to this happening in future.

Sure, this is what I need in order to base it off my current code:

- A blockexplorer that has an api for getreceivedbyaddress
- A way of generating a huge list of deposit addresses for a cold wallet set up (I guess BQC has a daemon to use with the getnewaddress command?)
- A profit incentive to spend $12 on a domain name :)

Honestly I have no idea of anything about BQC yet.

The sha256 hash of the game data at the bottom of the screen proves that the game is not rigged and that you unfortunately had bad luck on that turn.

If someone were to play this game infinite times, here are the results they would be likely to get:
row 1: 96% of your original coins remain ((4/5) * 1.2 = .96)
row 2: 89.6% of your original coins remain ((4/5)^2 * 1.4 = .896)
row 3: 81.92% of your original coins remain ((4/5)^3 * 1.6 = .8192)
row 4: 81.92% of your original coins remain ((4/5)^4 * 2 = .8192)

row 1: 2.22% (1/45)
row 2: 2.25% (1/40) but... it is also possible you hit it before, so then the percentages add together (4.47%)
row 3: 2.86%[7.32% total chance to land on jackpot if you get to this row]
row 4: 3.33%[10.11%]
row 5: 4.00%[14.11%]
row 6: 5.00%[19.11%]
row 7: 6.67%[25.78%]
row 8: 10.00%[35.78%]
row 9: 20.00%[55.78%]

unfortunately, the jackpot is a random amount (increasing as the game is played), but.... if you just played at 1 FC, you have just as much a chance to hit it as if you played at 4000 FC, so....
try to get the jackpot after it reaches greater than 44 FC, by playing on the 1 FC level..... wow...

Also, one might want to note that your chances of hitting the tile are technically slightly more complex... there is a 5 in 45 chance it is on the top row and a 1 in 5 chance you choose that cell, but that simplifies to 1 in 45. you will find this true for all rows.

Great! You've spent a lot more time thinking about it statistically than I have :)

Some other info:

- Jackpot grows by getting 1% from losing bets.
- When a game is generated, there's a 1 in 25 chance that a jackpot square will be included.
- If a jackpot square is included in the game, each row / column has exactly the same chance of having the jackpot on it (1 in 45) with the following rather obvious condition: The jackpot can't be on the same square as a mine.

had a go at the game earlier, put in 100 FC, got up to bet *2, took it out :) might play again in a bit

Perhaps you could tell me how it happened :) What were you doing at the time? What browser is it? What's your User ID?


One way it could happen:

- You deposit 2 FC to your deposit address.
- You play games totaling -2 FC.
- At this point balance should say 0.
- Then the connection to the feathercoin blockexplorer for some reason reports 0 from a call to check your deposit address.
- Together with your played games totaling -2, the overall total balance would be -2.

In that case, the error would be temporary as hopefully the blockexplorer will start reporting the correct deposit total again.

That's all just guesswork at this point, but I'll look into it further.  Thanks.

having deposited.... played a bit... then withdrawn.... continued playing free play... then got all the way to the end and clicked x6 bet take... changed the balance to -122.. using chrome

edit: Meh hit next free play and balance rest now, also got to the end again and tried to collect and didn't happen ... so u either fixed it or it gonna be harder to reproduce or doesn't matter :)

Hi Fuzzy bear, sorry for the inconvenience, this is the exact same issue that has a paragraph written about it in the OP. It has to do with a temporary connection problem communicating with the feathercoin block explorer.

Actual hashes aren't stored, so I'd have to write a script to go through every single game to calculate hashes and see if any match the above.

Better if I can get your user ID and look for any games that were bet with 1 FC or that reached the 8th row, and then check their hashes.

That first one shows NULL in the 'completed' field, meaning either you didn't click the "Take" button, or your connection dropped before your request reached the server.

Anyhow, I suggest that you run cron job to check for games with unclaimed rewards after N minutes of inactivity. Perhaps, also automate the reward claim for last row, since it is kind of pointless to have to manually claim reward on the last row since you don't have anymore row to continue.

I deposited 5.0 FC a couple of hours ago.  It showed up in my balance for a few seconds.  I tried to place a 5.0 FC bet.  It told me I had to make a deposit.  The balance went back to zero.  I never had a chance to play at all.  What happened?

Same issue as described in the OP, and should be temporary.

I wrote a bot and ran thousands rounds with it.


This is the bombs & jackpots distribution stats i had collected over the thousands of free plays.

The total games ran is about 10K. Please note that the stats isn't totally reliable since there were bugs occurred with the bot and got fixed after some iterations.

Some interesting points i noticed either by studying the stats collected or observation during the 10k games,
- there isn't a single jackpot in the first row.
- Each game has about 0.0043 (or 0.43% which is far less than 1/25 stated by the author) of chance hitting the jackpot.
- in order to have better 'luck' of hitting the jackpot, you would need to have at least 250FTC and place only 1FTC bet for each game.
- some box are less likely to hit a bomb than others
- there are some interesting patterns i had observed, that if you play in straight line downward for any starting point, you would have much better chance to hit the bottom. The stats i had collected is about 26% instead of 0.8^9 = 13.4% chance to hit the bottom. However do mind that, even at 26% chance of hitting the bottom, you still play a lossing game over a long session.


This could potentially help you increase your winning odds, however i have to warn you that, it is nothing substantial. I did some math with the stats, over time, you still losses, the house has significant advantages over you.

P/S: If you did won some coins after reading my post, you may tip me some LTC/FTC. Check my signature for addresses.

On the one hand I applaud your effort and will read your post again in detail soon.

On the other hand, my poor little site felt like it was a bit of a DOS and made everything very sluggish for a while (including other sites on the same server)... I'll have to further consider the effects of this kind of script going forward.

Also about the jackpot: I had toyed with the idea of not putting it in the first row, even for free games (to be consistent), but ultimately decided against it, however the code that I had done to set it up that way somehow made it into a release. I've removed it now and updated the site again. Feel free to run another 10k games to confirm this. I'll double-check this behaviour on the litecoin version too.

Any fee/minimum for withdraw?

No, and in fact some people have withdrawn some ridiculously small amounts, costing me 0.1 FC.

However I write it up as a business expense.

Hopefully the next release of the client will have lower fees, if it's following Litecoin's development.

I deposited 10FTC earlier and it didn't show up right away, so I waited a bit and ended up checking my deposit address and it had changed wondering if this is why I have not receive credit to play..
