Title: What's up with the high volume of unconfirmed transactions??? Post by: mr.mister on March 18, 2017, 07:18:55 AM Is it that the miners are being overwhelmed? And does this threaten the price of Bitcoin? Title: Re: What's up with the high volume of unconfirmed transactions??? I checked the same page a few days ago, and it was double that. One more question, what happened to the blockchain.info site? I noticed that it has completely changed? Is there another way to see the scrolling transactions you used to be able to see live? Title: Re: What's up with the high volume of unconfirmed transactions??? And yes there is a way to see that apart from that link. Title: Re: What's up with the high volume of unconfirmed transactions??? No reason, other than finding it exciting, especially seeing $100k + operations going on, and some even higher. I think I have seen over $1 million dollar transfers. Imagine if you got one number off on the send address?? Yikes. Anyhow How can I see the live transactions? Title: Re: What's up with the high volume of unconfirmed transactions??? Post by: OmegaStarScream on March 18, 2017, 01:28:51 PM They changed the UI and their logo etc... I guess It's due the fact that there was a lot of phishing attempts. The link I gave you allow you to watch the live transactions because logically, the new transactions are always unconfirmed or you have this which is almost the same and there is BitBonkers which is more creative but you can't see enough details like on blockexplorers.

Post by: Coding Enthusiast on March 18, 2017, 03:06:52 PM How can I see the live transactions? As I said one way is that link above (https://blockchain.info/unconfirmed-transactions). There are also other exchanges: https://www.smartbit.com.au/ or the page https://www.smartbit.com.au/txs you can also change the unit to USD from top right corner. https://live.blockcypher.com/btc/ Doesn't have USD though! http://fiatleak.com/ is also a neat site. You can also use blockchain.info sockets (https://blockchain.info/api/api_websocket) you need to subscribe to {"op":"unconfirmed_sub"} then you can process the transactions however you like and display them yourself Title: Re: What's up with the high volume of unconfirmed transactions??? Post by: Iranus on March 19, 2017, 02:40:26 PM There aren't too many unconfirmed transactions right now, there were a couple of weeks ago when Bitcoin was rising fast and there was too much hype about it, but now the number of unconfirmed transactions is down to a few thousand at most.
However, until a scaling solution is chosen and enacted there will still be a higher volume of unconfirmed transactions than there were a year or so ago because the network isn't capable of handling them. This does threaten the price a tad but I think that most of the big money and the monopolies in mining won't particularly mind if transactions are a little bit slow or expensive. |
