Title: Convert Amps to Watts Post by: bughatti on March 19, 2017, 12:55:27 AM So since I am on linux now with my rigs and I also installed 220 in my house, I can no longer use my killawatt meter to gauge each rig on kwh usage. I could buy 1 for 220v but it would require me to shut all my rigs down and re wire a few things.
In the meantime I bought a clamp meter to see what amps I am using. Since I have 2 hot legs and a ground on my 30A plug, I clamped each hot wire and added them. I found this calculator online http://www.plug.at/pl/calculator.htm to determine how many watts I am up to. My question is does anyone have a better site to use or a better method? Linux has nothing like gpu-z or hwinfo64 for me to gauge each rig. Title: Re: Convert Amps to Watts Post by: bucketofsocks on March 19, 2017, 04:22:11 AM amps x volts =watts
no calculator needed 220volts at 10 amps would be 2200watts Title: Re: Convert Amps to Watts Post by: xxcsu on March 19, 2017, 04:40:50 AM With this meter you can continuously monitoring your amp usage , easy to install .. you dont need to connect the red/orange/yellow wires , those wires is just for backlight ...
then basic math : amps x volts =watts https://www.bluesea.com/products/8258/AC_Ammeter_-_0_to_100A_with_Coil (https://www.bluesea.com/products/8258/AC_Ammeter_-_0_to_100A_with_Coil) instructions : http://assets.bluesea.com/files/resources/instructions/9975.pdf (http://assets.bluesea.com/files/resources/instructions/9975.pdf) https://dh778tpvmt77t.cloudfront.net/images/products/8258.jpg https://dh778tpvmt77t.cloudfront.net/images/products/8003_back.jpg http://beszeljukmeg.com/ETH/ampmeter.JPG Title: Re: Convert Amps to Watts Post by: groovy1962 on March 19, 2017, 05:44:27 AM Here's the route I went:

Supports 240v. |
