Just making my first post to introduce myself here. I've been lurking about for a couple years now and figured it is about time to say hi. I do a little mining of the various cryptocoins and also a smidge of trading. I also love the idea of cryptocurrency. While I am not a "True Believer", I am a believer in the concept and promise of digital currencies. I recently made my first purchase of a real-world item with BTC, a new monitor from bitcoinstore.com and the process was almost as painless as ordering something from Amazon, so that has me very excited. I lurked for months before I even joined this forum. Alternative payment methods is my interest that made me find this place. Got blown away with the idea of Bitcoin mining but I am a total newbie on that subject and will need more time to learn. It fascinates me but it is way over my head. My interest in this is for fun only. I wish I`d gotten into the mining back then, but who doesn`t!?
Anyway, now I`m very interested in both the long-term project and the potential short-term profit. I don`t know where and how far BTC and other cryptocurrencies can go, but I am very interested in watching - and overall, I`ve been extremely pleased and surprised with how welcoming and helpful the BTC community has been. Just bought bitcoin right when it started to skyrocket. Hubby told me about them months ago but he was cautious until there seemed to be some traction, and the news that there was going to be some regulation for money laundering. Wish we would have joined sooner, of course, but we think it will take off in the next few years.
