Post by: AG992379519 on April 22, 2013, 05:54:14 PM
Bitcoiners from Toronto chime in.  New or experienced i guess it doesn't matter.  Let us now what you are using or what you aspire to use.

Personally, looking to build an ASIC mining rig with a friend.  Ordering ASIC Chips this week!

Slightly off-topic, but there is some work-in-progress for a new bitcoin exchange based in Toronto.  Toronto Bitcoin Exchange - https://btcto.com/

Note: They are currently in "testing" phase and are encouraging people to try and hack their website and report feedback. (http://www.reddit.com/r/Bitcoin/comments/1clxws/come_and_hack_toronto_bitcoin_exchange_and_get_btc/)

(Hope you guys don't mind my hijacking the thread, was just excited to see a Canadian exchange potentially opening up.  :) )

I'm looking to build a small rig (maybe just USB chips). I haven't done any mining myself before but I bought some coin back at around ~100 in the big run up and sold high, effectively doubled my investment. I'm more into this as a hobby though and some extra coin never hurt (fiat or otherwise). Anyone have suggestions for Canadian group buys?

Hi I'm from Toronto! Is it just the meetup.com meetup? I thought there was one at Nathan Phillips square too.

I'd like to come to one and meet/talk to real life Bitcoin users. I'd also like some feedback on my projects (QuickBT for Canadians etc).

Looking forward to meeting you all,

Waterloo, ON Bitcoiner here (now that this thread is about Canada in general :)). Our community is doing pretty well for itself on the Bitcoin front; already on http://coinmap.org, there are 8 venues accepting Bitcoin in KW (I have yet to go to any personally though). How are other communities (large or small) doing?

Recently, the Bank of Canada has stepped up its anti-Bitcoin crusade. The Harper government has shown indifference at best and sometimes even outright hostility towards Bitcoin. Please keep that in mind next time you enter the polls.

  • Must have a sales volume of more than + 1BTC.
  • It must be above + 95% positive feedback (Feedback).

Why or why I need a localbitcoins account with these characteristics, I will gladly explain it to the interested parties (forget or do not think I want to do any type of scam). It's for simple business. More details, I repeat, willingly, will be explained to those interested.

In case the interested party wants to RENT ME YOUR ACCOUNT =

  • It should be for a minimum period of one month.
  • We will negotiate the rental price after reaching a possible rental agreement.
  • The owner can not enter this account (login) during the time it is rented on my behalf

In case the interested party wants to SELL ME YOUR ACCOUNT =

  • The purchase price will be stipulated according to the volume of BTC traded.
  • In the deal we will use the escrow service (visit http://www.escrow.com to find out what this service is) to avoid any type of fraud by any of the 2 parties.

Interested write post here, send me a private message or contact me via ICQ (714548450)

You could send BTC from other exchange like Binance you mentioned to a Canadian exchange like Quadriga, which is one of the biggest Crypto exchange in Canada.
Then you would sell it for CAD and you could then withdraw CAD to your bank account in many ways ( like Bank Wire, Direct Bank Transfer / EFT, Credit Card, Express Bank Transfer).

Hello! Today I got acquainted with a new interesting project based on the smart contract ETH REVOLUTION.
I am not an admin or representative, the topic was created for discussion and is not a call for any action on your part.
30% Minimum monthly income
30% Minimum monthly income

Double the initial deposit: 100% return on your investment + 100% on top.
The project allows you to double your investment without burdening the fund with debt obligations.

Sustainable interest rate: our basic interest rate (1%) provides the investor with an income of 30% per month, while having a minimal impact on the potential of the fund.

There are no restrictions in the project, whether it is the minimum / maximum contribution or the limit on the total investment in the fund.

A referral program with instant payment to both participants: a referrer (3%) and a referral (1%) instantly receive rewards in their wallets.

Protection of the fund from chaotic dividend withdrawals: in order to minimize the withdrawal of the accumulated dividends by less responsible investors, we have rounded the dividend accrual period to 24 hours.

The ability to withdraw at any time 70% of the deposit of the amount of all investments: the investor can at any time receive 70% of the amount of all investments in the project by sending to the smart contract address 0.0088888 ETH available for withdrawal 70% = 70% of the amount of all investments minus the amount all percent already taken.

Risk-free increase in personal interest rate in arithmetic progression with the activation of the BUST mode.
When activating the BUST mode, your personal interest rate will increase in an arithmetic progression + 0.005% per day. To activate the BUST mode, you must send it to the smart contract address 0.0077777 ETH.

Extra bonus when investing more than 10 ETH. In cases of a total investment of more than 10 ETH, your personal interest rate will increase by 0.05%, if the total investment is more than 50 ETH, then by 0.11%, this bonus is added to the existing ones.

Smart Contract Address: 0xCC70db1aC810677c06D9CC1CDD8c953B12eDD3FA

Bitcoiners from Toronto chime in.  New or experienced i guess it doesn't matter.  Let us now what you are using or what you aspire to use.

Heyo, ex Saint Catharines here!

Personally, looking to build an ASIC mining rig with a friend.  Ordering ASIC Chips this week!

Still looking for an ASICS rig? I kid, it's been a long time since that original post.

what happened to their thread here. ;looks like everyone has abandoned the thread and their project for other links and community. you all need to come back here to better this thread. i fear the thread might go down if nothing is happening here.

Let's keep the conversation going! How many of you have become involved in Bitcoin only in 2019? Let's start there! Get some education flowing to the newest among us. We can better this thread together. And I know there's a lot of smart Canadian folks in this community.

One more thing - anyone from Canada mining Pi (https://minepi.com/Wiant)? We could talk about the mining and philosophical differences between Bitcoin and Pi (https://minepi.com/Wiant).

I also think that cryptocurrency will more easily survive difficult times (as opposed to the dollar). However, my instincts tell me not to put everything in one basket. If you look at the advice of specialists (for example kismetgroup.ca (https://kismetgroup.ca/)) then the real estate can also be a good island of stability. What do you choose as a fallback (besides crypto)?

real estate is a good investment for stability, but most of parameters at the moment are signalling that real estate market is already considerably up, and that is nearing a point when it should go down, still with these credit rates going down again, this moment will probably be shifted more in the future, since real estate prices will not go down until credit rates do not go up, there is a connection of cheap money source and real estate prices, i would also consider dividend stocks, but nevertheless DYOR (do-your-own-research) before investment

I was earning in the past when it was altcoin season in 2017 then after that there was some dump came in market. I though that now this market will not get better so I started physical business but recently I found that I was wrong and crypto market is the future of online businesses and it is on rise again. So I am again planning to make mining rigs and start online crypto businesses.

Kristin Smith, CEO of the Blockchain Association, the crypto industry is currently in a heated battle against regulators like Gary Gensler and lawmakers like Elizabeth Warren. Smith believes that there is a lot of misinformation and misunderstanding surrounding cryptocurrency and blockchain technology, which is leading to harsh regulations and restrictions. The industry is fighting to educate these individuals and push for more favorable regulations that allow for innovation and growth.

Quite a couple of CEXs now mandate KYC verification which I think goes contrary to crypto's  goal of promoting decentralisation, so i can understand why your preference is a KYC-optional CEX. For one that will deliver similar user satisfaction like Binance, I think Bitget is a valid option when you consider its user-friendly interface and the integration of products that help beginners navigate the huge industry, talking about products like Copy trading, Grid trading and the likes. Also one of the biggest derivatives exchange with some of the cost-effective fees in the market.
