Most of them will instantly banned you when they will find it. Many vps states this in their faq but even those who don't have this stated in their faq page will banned you whenever they will find out that you are using so much of resources due to CPU mining.

Thanks for the quick response. So CPU mining is really confined to personal computers someone owns?

Webhosts ban it in their t&c and faqs, but you can still mine in complete discretion into your hosted vps, but the real question is: will you be able to get any coin from it ? cpu mining is something from old days.

Yes it is or until VPS provider find out that you are using their service to mine crypto.
There is an altcoin called burst coin that can be mined with VPS. You can mine them with your free HDD space rather than CPU resources.

are you sure? why they should ban me if i paid for that vps? it sound very stupid to me, a cpu can run at full speed without a problem and without crashing and this is not an issue if they said so

Which coin you want to mine? you can rent hashing power on nicehash or some other similar services, vps aren't useful when it comes to mining.

It has various reasons, but the main thing is that a lot cheap VPS's are making use of a "shared" CPU. It basically means that if you start CPU mining, that it will greatly affect the other user(s) you share your CPU with.

Other thing is that CPU mining is a very intensive practice. Servers sitting in racks don't have any space to install a proper CPU fan, and thus it will significantly lower the life time of the CPU. There are most likely more reasons, but these are the most important.

Tried it way back in 2014 for much of the alts, and I did profit a bit, with proper trading. The trick is to find an unmanaged VPS, some would eventually catch up to you and shut you down, so it's just a matter of finding another provider. These days, I'm kinda sure the returns aren't as worth it as it were back then.
