Hi,

I just kinda had a quick question and wanted to see what everybody thought.  My main question as the title states;  Why is Ripple or XPR not worth more or why is the value not higher?  With all of the possibilities it can offer and potential it has,  I would think it would be one of the most valued coins.  If you don't know what Ripple has to off, just go to their website and it explains it perfectly.  I don't wanna take up your time attempting to explain it all, and they can do it much better than myself. 

Anyway, the only guesses I can somewhat come up with are,

• It hasn't caught on yet.
• It isn't worth a lot now but will be in the future
• They don't have a very good wallet or hardly any choices for wallets

But that's really all I can think of why it's not worth very much.  But these things can be overcame fairly easily.  Especially with everything Ripple has to offer.  But I would like to hear from the community any answer and insight is greatly appreciated.

Because:

1. Ripple is a private company
2. It is centralized
3. Ripple is not XRP, therefore the partnerships between ripple and the banks doesn't affect XRP much if at all. XRP is a playtoy ripple threw at the speculators to make money

Yes, likely they are pumping it up in preparation of flooding the market with another 1.4 billion ripple.

That's 1,385,364,310 or almost 1.4 billion more tokens. Likely at current rate of release another 1.4 billion tokens will be released by July. At today's price that represents a little over $14,375,000 US for the 1.4 billion tokens. Or if they continue to be released at the same rate approximately $57,500,000 US for 2017. Not bad for something created virtually out of thin air. I wonder how deep the pockets of the gullible are. The efforts being put into pumping the token suggests a large release of tokens is imminent. The ripple team is really going to enjoy their summer at the public's expense.

Use to support Ripple when I'm just a newbie and just stating out in the crypto currency,but after comparing it to bitcoin and other popular crypto currency I found out it's not decentralized and they hold huge premine I got out of supporting it,the only thing that keeps them goin gis they have a great group of devcelopers and marketers..

However, there are ppl out there that have been buying millions of xrp for the last 3 or 4 years at the price between $0.005 and $0.01.

They are in the green now so the decision on what to do is theirs.

I find it bullish that ripple sells/loans XRP at the rate of hundreds of millions per month at or around the current exchange rate.

But some ppl aren't here to grow their wealth but rather be FUD philanthropist.

the same reason why Dogecoin is not worth more, the same reason why Ethereum will never go higher than certain price levels when the distribution of the ICO happens fairly and whales don't control 90% of the supply.

it is all about a very simple rule of supply and demand the demand of altcoins will always be inferior and there is nothing to change that. and when the supply is huge there will always be coins available for people to buy without making the price go up.

to put simple when something is scarce it becomes valuable, if you could find Gold grow on trees the value of it would be close to nothing.

XRP rise in price potential in 2017 is very strong after years of sideways movement.

I'm neither for/against Ripple but I like that they're established, I like Ripple's recent activity and also based on what I continue reading, that XRP fits well with banks who will be offering BTC to its customers for commercial use-cases starting June 2017 in Japan.

The following central banks are using Ripple: Japan, England, Abu Dhabi, European Central Bank. Ripple employees hold key board positions with the FED, HSBC, Barclays, BoA, the Bank of England, CHAPS.

Japan's Virtual Currency Act must be in play before May 2017 so all BTC exchanges must be in place and working by April 30, 2017. I read somewhere they expect to have around 66 billion XRP out till 2022. SO almost double as now.  In next 10 years whole 100 billions.  I am surprised why price goes up. Or people dont really read and educate themselves before they spend their wealth on Cryptocoins.

if that were true, why is that bad? taking "decentralized" and personal ethics out of of the equation, a digital replacement of fiat currency would be lucrative AF.

Centralized is why banks are taking up Ripple.

I think the market has been caught up in the hype of DE-CENTRALIZED currency and forgetting that banks want to control their distributed ledger. It is a viable option for banks to incorporate Ripple to decrease settlement costs, and have control over their operations. What bank is going to let a de-centralized currency controlled by miners that secure the network?

Yes and that is one thing that is wrong with DASH. Biggest problem of centralisation is that someone can switch all off. No one can switch off Bitcoin. If any government could they already would. Centralised coins will be switched off as soon as any Government will fell threatened by them.
