Title: Have you heard Roger Ver?
Post by: hector3115 on March 25, 2017, 01:38:44 AM
I have been watching his various youtube interviews and he is supremely confident in BU and raising the block size.

So confident that he literally can't wait for the hard fork.

It's a bit scary but maybe he's right?  He was right on Bitcoin under a dollar.

Hopefully he is cause it sounds like its coming.

I've been researching Bitcoin almost everyday for two years and I would like to side with the primo engineers from Core, but maybe they are overthinking things.

Just raise the fucking block size like whats been done in the past and let it grow.

I will tell you one thing, I will be keeping my coins from both chains until one emerges as the clear winner.  I'm not confident enough to sell either right away.

i think its silly...

core could simply do an honest to goodness BS incress to 2MB instead of 2mB "effective block size" + sig discount ( LN will produce massive sigs without sig dicount LN fees would be higher then BTC fees to boot )

and 80% of the wind backing BU would die down.

Roger Ver also sounded very confident and convincing when he tried to assure the public that your money was safe on MtGox... draw your own conclusions from there. He is a good guy but a bit naive and he has a huge emotional bias to the point he is unable to think clearly and critically once his emotions are involved. Just my observation.

He seems to be a guy who thinks he knows better than everyone else, may be he really thinks he Jesus  ::)

We need an increase ASAP, that much is fact. BU, some 2 MB not-segwit compromise from Core. At the moment Bitcoin is bleeding more than it ever has done. Its first mover advantage and network effect depends on its ability to grow, and right now it can't.

People with egos and ivory tower ideals are sabotaging Bitcoin and destroying its practical use.

Maybe Lightning Networks will work and be beautiful but right now Bitcoin is dying and alts are flourishing.

Miners, developers, DO SOMETHING, ANYTHING!

People in need of a high volume of transactions may right now use banks .........  ;D
There's no reason why Jihadi Wu or Roger Ver are any better than current banks.

The rest of us will stay with the real bitcoin ie core.

If he is really that confident then he should finally accept Loaded's offer!

He might be supremely confident about his client but before doing anything what he have to do is to pick some good coders and testers so that the client wont crash when someone try to test it out. :D The bug was in the system for a long time and to get the system crashed two time in the past few days shows how confident Roger Ver could get. :P

Seriously, he names himself as "bitcoin angel". Check his personal website, it is real. Sounds more like a super egoistical douchebag to me. I don't trust people like that they often have a childish behavior and they have no connection left with the real world. We are not in a marvel movie.

If Core does decide to increase the block size, it will mean a back down from their current position. And big egos won't allow them to do that. We wouldn't be sitting here debating the block size if Core was not so rigid.

BU succeeding is a good thing for bitcoin.

I'm more worried about BU failing because there's so many people who are clueless that think BU is the evil one here. But it's exactly the opposite.
