Title: Exchange blockchain
Post by: alexmol on March 26, 2017, 03:36:46 AM
Does somebody know is exchange based on blockchain exist? It seems it is possible to implement it based on etherium network. Is it already implemented? All these centralised exchanges have no trust from my perspective. I read about some issues with withdraw and amount limitations. Event if project in beta I really want to test it. If somebody know the name please help.

i think you are looking for "decentralized exchanges" and yeah there have been some but none of them are popular and to my eyes they don't seem to be good enough. although i have not tested them thoroughly, i just checked them out.
https://www.cryptocompare.com/exchanges/guides/what-is-a-decentralized-exchange/
you can read some of the downsides here.

there is https://bitsquare.io/ that i can remember. and there are more in that article link above.

and about ethereum i have to say, i doubt it can be successful. because the platform already has bugs and is known to be exploited. that is why i doubt anybody would trust an exchange which is based on ethereum network which is highly likely to be exploited or fork away without any warnings.

Dear Alexmol,

Decentralized exchanges do exist. After testing and using the openledger Decentralized Exchange (DEX) myself for some years, I have to say that I have found it quite robust, fast, affordable, reliable and secure. Without saying that their user interface is very elegant.

You can always try it for yourself following the link below to open your free account:
https://bitshares.openledger.info/?r=cvrs

Moreover, you can also download the Bitshares2 light client here for Windows, Mac & Linux and start using it:
https://bitshares.org/download/

This Bitshares (BTS) light client is already integrated to the Openledger DEX. I have tested and used the BTS client for windows and it has been working extremely well. Please see more information below:
https://news.bitcoin.com/decentralized-fintech-exchange-openledger-launches-today/

I would strongly recommend anyone in the world of digital currencies/assets to at least try Openledger Bitshares DEX once, you will not be disappointed and might end up becoming an Openledger DEX life time member.

Best regards

1) Etherium is a botnet
2) There is no any real adoption, etherium holders keep their coins on exchanges and never download a wallet, since they don't want to participiate in a botnet.
3) 3/4 of all etherium clones died after horrible fork, etherium testnets regularly die in horrible fork, this shit generate too many orphans. There is no way 15 second blocks can exist on decentralized network, so etherium mining probably highly centralized.
4) Massive spam campaign on fake news websites and forums going on.
