I just got a 5 of Sapphire RX 480 8gb Micron Memory hashing at 24.2XX

I need help in reaching the best speed on ETH with these GPUs with a modded bios, i know how to change time strap but this card time straps is different than the other cards i ever seen check screenshot ( http://prnt.sc/eolr9f ) . The memory type is Micron

I have searched the forum here for help and even Google but it seems that there is no reliable/helpful advice with this card in particular.

it's has 2 memory straps profiles each profile has 11 field, it's a really strange bios to me

Thank you for your help, but are you sure this one will work ? have you tested it before ? i didn't flash it yet, but i used similar mod yesterday and didn't work, alot of people saying it's can't be modified, just want to make sure that u tried it before ?

If you want to attain stable 27 MH/s, do you know you can get it without flashing through Claymore miner's integrated functions?

Use -cclock and -mclock, check FAQ of Claymore miner for more information.

I have not tried it however there is no reason it shouldn't work. If I had the card in front of me I would keep going even if that ment I had to start digging into hex. However I had to put together a separate machine running 16.11.5 to flash some of my samsung memory cards then when put back into a system running 16.9.2 they worked perfectly.

Side note if none of them work your not out anything however if they work and you chose to send me a tip that would be cool.

Great Ive hard a hard time finding any compatible bios for it. Im running ethos, so I dont think I can use polaris or anything.

Eth received, Thank you.  I enjoy bios modding on my cards however it has always been a pain with some memory types. For example on rx 470 4gb Hynix cards I can't get them to hash over 27Mh but all my rx 470 4gb samsung cards hash at 29-30MH.

i think i can help u with the Hynix memory i have edited the bios before and getting 28.8XX, RX 470 4gb :)

i get about 24.500
after overclocking through wattman  memclock to 2000 and gpu clock to 1350 i get max 25.200 and temp goes 80+ (iam from india here temperature is 40C) 


should i take the risk i heard it can HARD BRICk the GPU

Any help will be appreciated as the best I could achieve was 27.313 MH/s at 1950 Mem and a core clock of 1242 using the 1750 Straps.

i tried watttool settings and max i could get is 26.955mh  the avg speed is 26.500




so i just tried wattools and the settings are  exactly same as yours


so now what should i do  next ? are there anymore settings ?

so after setting memory clock to 2180 mhz and mv  to 1000, through WattTool   i could go to 27.1xx while having some screen flickering issues sometimes   if i overclock it 2200   pc crashes

No, it 's a obvious sign of too much OC.
Hynix won't be stable over 1950 MHz with the common timkng straps.
Even with custom straps you are lucky if you can go over 2000 Mhz.
1950Mhz with 1500 timing should bring you about 28 mh/s.

Which of these would you expect to be faster? What memory/GPU clocks do you think are optimal? I'm running your 1750 straps, with mem set to 2040 and clocks set to 1025. Getting about 27.5-28. should I try the 1625 straps?

A question reading the forum indicate that you should use an application in windows in any case I have my rig in ethos as would do to have the modified rom so that it reaches 30 hash? The modified rom is the one you already have published in this post? Can i flash?

How to make start.bat? put it the same folder or startup folder? if my profile 0, 6 ,12. just change the number?

I have 3 GPU SKU: 11260-20 sapphire rx480 8GB, and so far I do not get any romantic modification to reach 30 Hash, does anyone know how to modify the blips of these cards with micron memories? Has anyone tried the insider procedure in this post? For this GPU model

it's was for rx 480 8gb sapphire nitro micron

i run 29.5 with 470 4gb and 8gb

470 always with saphire micron memory ?
Cause i wanna build my rig with 8 gpu but with 480 require more power then my target it is 470/570 (PSU 1200watt) around 30mhs each gpu, i didn't bought before cause i was scared to hit micron shit then waste my money.
Do you have any info about power of 470 on your rig?

80-100w with modded bios and under voltage for rx 470 sapphire and msi armor, and about micron memory will be mostly for cards only Nitro not Nitro+

it's better to use Evga 1300w u can even use it for 7 gpu mining

For all of you guys i made a custom bios from the one in the main post.
You won't need any wattool,wattman,afterbuner,trixx or any other software of that type, i set everything in the bios like Insider00 did with wattool, so :

Def gpu clock : 1144 Mhz
Def mem clock: 2150 Mhz

Mem straps 1625
VDDC (gpu voltage) set at 925mV
TDP 120w
Set fans to hold cards at about 70c, so you don't need fan regulation either

Before flashing remove ALL software that you used before for manipulating (wattool,wattman,afterbuner,trixx...).
Then clean all video drivers with DDU.
Flash bios.
Reboot, reinstall video drivers.

Test.

Guys i have 3 Asus rx470 8gb micron ddr. I ve read here that they can do 30mgh , but mine a very bad obviosly , cause with the original bios , mem of one can reach stable only 1730 , the other one 1900 and one 1850! Is there a way i can make them do better, how do you achieve clocks of 2050 ? May be they are crap after all! The code of memory is  6TA47 D9SXD 7438 , just to know  is your code different?
I saw that your micron bios has 2 timings strap , but i have only one!

I have a sapphire 480 8gb micron that needs a boost.

I am newbie mining.....can you please confirm the method for installing this bios? I got 6 Sapphire Nitro(non plus) RX 480 8GB .....every card gives 23.5 Mh/s using minergate......I really want to get more juice from these cards

yeah my hynix 480 and 470 cards i just used 1900-1925 some even as low as 1850 just to keep them stable

my feeling is 1 or 2mhs more hash is not worth me rebooting a rgig once everyday

Your rom allowed 4x Sapphire Nitro 480 8GB reach 29.3MH/s (Micron).

I tweaked the settings a bit, but I mostly needed the straps as PBE wouldn't work.

1100 GPU/1000 mV
2050 Memory/1000 mV

Fan minimum 50% makes them run smooth.

I can't confirm his rom is best, but at least the straps are changed. What strap mod did you perform?

If it is of any use, the ASIC qualities in GPU-Z are 70.4%, 68.7%, 68.3%, 79.5%.

Has been running stable 29.3MH/s for 3 days now. Lets see if it crashes eventually.

I have a strange issue:

Doktor83's bios has the temp settings:

med temp - 45
high temp - 56
max temp - 73

And in MSI Afterburner i can see the max temp limit is 65. Of course after my cards reach 65c - reboot.

But the original bios:

med temp - 65,
high temp - 85
max temp - 109

AS for me, that is some kind of bug. Any suggestions ? Should i change the temp settings via POlaris and than flash the cards again?

worked great but my 480 nitro still keeps the fan at 0% any insight in what might be happening? also the newest driver didn't recognize it, can the ATI pixel clock patcher solve this or not??

A little help needed here :)
My card is an ASUS RX470 STRIX GAMING 8GB OC with micron memory, and I'm doing dual mining ETH+DCR with claymore. And using afterburner for tuning.
I tried a lot of variations but my best was 25MH/s ETH + 780 DCR. (or 26MH/s single)
drivers: 16.9.1, 16.9.2, 17.5.2
gpu: 1000, 1025, 1040, 1050, 1100, 1150, 1200, 1250
mem: 1750+
straps: 1500, 1625, 1750

At the moment I'm mining with 16.9.2, 1100gpu, 1900mem, 1750 straps (this seems stabile and the best so far)
Highest was 28.5MH/s with 17.5.2, 1200gpu, 2100mem, 1750straps, but GPU failed over and over again.

Also tried WattTool, and copied the settings Insider posted, but could not get better result at all, and most times my pc crashed.

My goal would be 28-30MH/s if possible. I would be glad if you guys could help me.

i all i have managed to get polaris bios editor to open my micron  memory on my rx470 MSI Gaming X 8gb and it has given me the following values


0:1500 7770000......
0:1625 7770000.....
0:1750 7770000......
0:1875 9990000......
0:2000 9990000......

can anyone give some advice as to the optimum memory straps and where to duplicate them?

Guys, I'm in search of advice. I have a Sapphire Nitro rx480 card (non plus model, Micron memory) 11260-20-20G. All the modded ROMs I've ever tried make the Claymore's miner work for about a minute or two at 30+Mh/s before crashing the Windows 10. The recent one from this thread (thank you, doktor83!) worked for about 15 minutes at 29-30Mh/s before crashing the drivers and rebooting. So, can't make it work in stable mode.

I also have a strange problem - the Watttool 0.92 doesn't show anything for my card, everything is zero. Also, neither Trixx nor the GPU-Z show the GPU temp. The latest version of Windows 10 with Crimson 16.9.1 drivers (newer drivers do not recognize the card with the custom bios for some reason).

Also, what is the reason that some of the modded ROMs are 256KB when the original ROM dump is 512KB?
I need to know if it is the problem with the card or I'm doing something wrong. The card is hashing at 25Mhs on default ROM (see the link below for the original ROM).

Bad drivers or you too much overclocked cards, probably memory errors.
You better not use modded bios you can do your own, much safer. Link to guide in my signature.

Do you mind create a rom that limits the MEM clock @ 2000mhz ?
I don't know what's going on with my GPU, maybe the room temperature for our place is too hot,
It's very unstable to run at 2150mhz for me. but solid stable at 2000mhz.

I got it limits @ 2000mhz by using PolarisEditor for micron memory from this website.

It is hot weather in france and I have prepared dozens of bios with 10MHz steps, and 5W TBP/Maxpower, and my miner got few memory errors, and stepped back to 40MHz less, or to 10W less in TBP/MaxPower... it is happy now.

Now just need someone with real knowledge about Micron memory to make custom
strap instead just copy/paste  8)
