Title: unlimited april's fool fork
Post by: aaseb on March 28, 2017, 10:24:30 AM
Hello, a few days ago I saw a post in the alts section announcing bitcoin unlimited for 1st of april.
Now HitBTC exchange announced they have a first deadline for a possible fork on 31st of march.
Besides that I have seen very little indication saying a fork could happen so soon.
Does anyone have a clue if that could even be possible?

Im just HOPING sanity reings and the fork does not happen.

If it happens, we will go back in time like 3 years. It will be Mt Gox 3.0. We will need several years to recover from the big BUgcoin disaster.

BUgcoin will organically die since it doesn't work and the devs are shit, Core will win again, but we will nonetheless go back in time, all for nothing.

Lets just hope BUgcoin goes irrelevant but china-funded miners apparently are looking forward to kill bitcoin and nothing else.

I think it will be OK tho.

At this point of time it's still speculation although trusted sources says it might happen, this coin has become associated with April fools day bvut the main proponents of Bitcoin unlimited seems very serious with his roadmap so we'll see what's going to happen in the next few weeks ..

I would like the "clean fork" to happen - that means, BU launching as an altcoin, based on a Bitcoin balance snapshot.

I don't think they will hard fork for real, at least not for now as the code is still dirty, and must be cleaned and matured further more.

Maybe it is just a test to see how the markets react to such an announcement, and for sure it will drop because of it, but will return to a normal value some days later because there will be no hard fork.

This game is really bad for the miners, i don't really understand what they are trying to do. And no, BU is not interested in been a bitcoin altcoin because they want bitcoin's transactions and revenues.

As far as i know, miners are in a bad situation because of BU, but not all of them, it is mainly Bitmain who is suffering from his own reactions.

BU may have many enthusiasts, if this happens it will be a lot of coin on top of marketcap, and has a balance of price, I speculated to have occurred intake USD to bitcoin to follow BTU. after losing USD in bitcoin for the purchase of ETH and dash for some ICO which became the top market, BTC started to recover since the news spread BTU, and there are many people who buy BTC to BTU, My underlying this information based on my speculation.

You're right that there is very little indication that a fork could take place within the Bitcoin network. There are no signs that a credible part of the userbase could break away from the longest chain at the moment and any attempt to do so would only attract a negligible following.

Only a few days before that April 1st I hope it's just all a fools day joke, what a day to make an announcement we are all caught by surprise
so far I haven't read a news that Bitcoin Unlimited has the support of the majority 100% so every body are excited what will happen in the coming days and weeks.

I hope no fork will happen, but if it happens , let's be civil about it. Peace.
