So many massive gains last night. Anyone profited?

Bitcoin Plus: %3000+
Bitcoin Dark: %600+
Bitstar: %500+
Bytecoin (ongoing pump): %500+

All of them with decent volume.

What gives?

But specially Bitcoin Plus was, and is, insane. So much money being put on that thing right now. It refuses to go down, still holding strong at 0.07.

It is not very clear regarding what is going on right now.

The question is how long this will last to prove stability at the current exchange rates? People are going insane trying to catch some of these profits, and it is easy for those selling at high prices will leave the coin and who bought them will suffer.

Time will reveal.

Once you saw Dash grow x10 you see anything is possible. Soon you will be able to trade 100 DASH for one BitcoinDark.  There is lots of idiots with huge bags of money.

Yes I agree there should be a reason why this pumps,if there are no great news about a particular that's pumping we can easily tell that whales are behind it and you should be very carefully not to be left behind,when they dump it.

Indeed, but Dash is known for having spent OneCoin tier amounts in marketing, which coupled with the particular context of the bitcoin crisis, has made a lot of idiots think Dash is better than bitcoin because it moves coins faster.

But what even are those coins? I had to look it out.

I think this is some sort of trolljob by whales to confuse newbies because of the BU FUD, so they are pumping all those "Bitcoin-something" coins or pretty much anything that begins with "Bit". I wonder if "Bitshares" is next lol.

Bytecoin in particular has achieved 500% increase today, but nothing new with its platform and that leads to the conclusion it is just the big holders of these coins decided to get as much liquidity from it and leave it behind. Unless of course, there is something proven with its platform to be doing something that users are adopting. It just makes no sense for this pump.

At its difficulty rate, anyone could easily mine 1000 - 2000 bytecoins a day, keeping these rates on high will make anybody make some cash money on daily basis if it keeps increasing.

So logically, it is not as good as it seems to be.

I never heard of Bitcoin Dark and Bitcoin plus. But yes, you are correct they are being pump and dump right now. So who are pumping and dumping? I really don't know because these 2 coins have not gain enough supporters, but the volume last night was huge. Maybe BU enthusiast? To create and create another FUD? Your guess is as good as mine  ;D

Seems to me like a big, big diversionary tactic. Look: All the "important" coins are going down, because people are seized by gambling fever and takin' all their money out, in order to play with all that small coins now. And when the important coins reached the bottom - bam! - they are gone.

You should sell those huge rises when they've peaked, but also note something has changed:

Expect that there are more to come, these whales are keep on pumping with any alt coin that they want to. And just take the advantage of it, once they pumped crazily just go with the flow and sell the alts you've got together with that pump and just stay tune again. For sure they are going to make another alt pump again.

I believe in this theory because Bytecoin hasn't come up with anything recently to explain the huge interest.

That said, the pump has probably reached its peak $0.000445 and then all the way down between $0.000120 - $0.000220. It will get back to normal in a few hours I would say.

Look at PEPECASH too. Just hit an ATH today and has great momentum. Very small marketcap with plenty of room to go. Don't miss out.

The way I made profit on one of those massive pumps was simply because I was holding for 2+ years coins of one of those cryptos that I mined back in the day when I was experimenting with different wallets and mining and saving all of those different cryptos since I noticed sometimes some whale group decides to pump the shit out of them. But I was expecting them to get delisted since they were flat for ages.

Anyway I noticed in my cryptofolio that a coin I was holding pumped hard, I quickly downloaded the wallet again and synced hoping that by the time I ended up syncing it would have got dumped. Luckily I was able to transact all the coins to Poloniex and I sold in small batches for like 2 hours in hopes for a rebound. It actually rebounded but I was too greedy and didn't dump the entire thing at once. Anyway final profits: around 0.7 BTC. Not bad considering I spent 0 BTC. 2 years later after holding the coin... pretty crazy.

If you wanted to get rich you would need to keep mining a coin with low difficulty over a long period of time to stake a ton, and most likely you will be mining a coin that never pumps or gets delisted. If I spent those 2 years mining on low difficulty I would have gotten a decent amount of BTC.

You cannot mine many coins at once, so you can only focus in a few to stack big amounts and make it big.

It's like winning the lottery tbh. Who the hell knows/if when any of those coins will pump.

Other way would be to diversify decent amounts into flat coins, like BTC 0.5 each, but again you risk that the coins get delisted and as soon as people notice a coin is getting delisted the price will get instadumped to 1 satoshi (by delisted I mean delisted in relevant exchanges with enough volume so you can dump everything)

Basically: be holding a good chunk bought with a low flat price / mined with a low difficutly over long period of time of the right coin at the right time (aka pump which lasts a couple hours).

I also put my money where my mouth it ;)   How would I be sure if they play this game for more day and BTS pump happens soon, just because today way BCN-day and the day before was BitcoinPlus-day. Maybe next relevant price event wont be very soon, yet BTS doesn't look like potentially/easily/certainly shrinking much immediately,  like the pumps you could have bought today did, does it?


yes, hard to predict exactly how much/when altcoins will retract from this spike? you know why they did the last times/years when they spiked? at the same why wouldn't money in ETH and DASH spread further.

The alt coin prices really confuse me right now, the pumping is so hard, it had cause the price multiplication, I think this is a good opportunity to make some profit using alt coin, this is the year where alt coin shines, so many alt coin price is increase like crazy but I still afraid to invest in bytecoin and bitcoin-plus, seems like the price is so uncertain

You like pumping now afterall instead of waiting 2 years? Why would you invest during pump? check if you are so amazed by their fundamentals that you cant believe not having bought them last week, else rather buy something you like that didn't spike yet?

Do you ever think it could just be like the action of a hostile takeover....Spike a coin then dump it so nobody trusts it. Then the bad actors continue to maintain control of the system. Most people focus on price but in the long run price doesn't matter and is irrelevant. What matters most is control. If they keep people chasing prices and maintain volatility and confusion, then they ultimately stay in control.

this is what i have been talking about for the past weeks.
i keep telling everyone to stop sticking to one big coin that did good once and start looking around, pumpers and whales aren't sticking around in one altcoin, they pump one > take a big profit > dump slowly without anyone noticing at first > move on to another coin > pump to the moon.

now newbies are stuck in an altcoin that has already gone up in a pump and probably they bought it high and now are in a loss while everyone else is making the same 1000% profit in another altcoin.

On the alts that you have been mentioned i do only know Bytecoin and others are new into my ears and i didnt expect that theres a Bitcoin PLus and Dark. Seriously?
There are already lots of altcoin which the same on the name of Bitcoin itself.Well.if they are pumping then thats indeed manipulated at all and dont expect for have its stabilization on longer runs.

all those coins share the same prefix name, maybe a coincidence? i think not, has to do with the hard fork of bitcoin and bitcoin unlimited spreading fud, but did you see lbry, it has 200% increase and it keep raising more, spreadcoin also was my best bet i believe it's going to touch 100k satoshi in few weeks, i'm holding tight like i never did in the past

If you look at ICN recent trends,I am sure it is going to pump 100x to current price after its developer has changed their strategy from paying dividend to buyback.This makes ICN the only crypto with buyback option and it price is going up like crazy.
On April,Iconomi will declare its first buyback and price is expected to grow exponentially

If we would only know when to buy/sell these coins :D This would make everything much more easy.

This is a really old thread and i do not understand what is useful for you,the bitcoin cash you are talking about was not even created when the thread was started ,the coins the OP has mentioned had big rallies and died down for now and those rallies happened because they had names similar to bitcoin i guess . :D

I am now hoping and praying with crossed fingers that the same trend will happen in the coming March of 2018. I really missed a big opportunity during these times. They were times when I was still grappling with the idea of cryptocurrency and blockchain and Bitcoin. But now that I am totally here, I am well prepared if the same trend will take place in the same season next year.

I think even when there is a reason behind some kind of pump, when they are the levels described it is still almost always due to some level of manipulation from whales or pump and dump groups. The type of news to make a coin jump so much just really doesn't happen very often at all.

Nothing changed actually. Whales are still pumping some altcoins. They just wait for the right time and they act while everybody is sleeping at home. That's why you miss some of the pumps and see it lately.

The problem with whales is that they can actually play the movements of the charts. Since they are holding much bigger chunks of the altcoins, they can easily dump them and if they want to pump they could also do that by buying much. Nothing has changed indeed. Millionaires are made if the investments are also big. But if investors are only starting with a couple thousand USD, they will actually have to be experts and very hardworking to reach a million.
