what is it exactly that you are looking for?
is it the solid code, and are you going to use the code for some special purpose? if so say so and move your topic to altcoin board.

i am guessing not since you posted in trading board. and if so, you are looking for a wrong thing. if it is profit you want, then look for the most hyped up coin not the best team.
altcoins are either good at developing with coding,... and suck at anything related to economy so price will always suck. look at Lisk for this. the coin is decent but nobody hears about it.

or they are bad at coding or don't care about it and they are good at economy stuff :) so the price is always good, look at ETH for that. the coin is terrible and has lots of bugs but the pumpers are pumping it!

there are tons of them still that exist long before the scam became a trend here in bitcointalk. you can't trust the rest even when they show something very noble, you never know when they are going to turned scam.
but the recent ones are much better like ICN team. there are few interesting that always comes in mind when it comes to investing to cheap coins... one that i think will rise up is XSpEC and ZETH which are both anon too.

I too think ICONOMI to be one among the legit, other than that seems that the Qtum project is running successfully. Most others come and won't get user base. Just get out of the list by the ICO launch, only few progress further towards the next level. Most of the coins go unsuccessful because of lacking in funding and developers.

If you don't want to waste time on reading and researching tons of announcements topics or read about new or past ICO.
You can track altcoin with potential by scanning coinmarketcap for new names and focus on checking them.

Relatively new altcoins with potential:

- Golem
- Zcash
- Iconomi
- Decred (a year old alt, but recently is being pumped like crazy)

Ethereum seems missing here, I tend to believe in Vitalik's capabilities. However the original team has been rather big, and gets smaller and smaller

There are many but each of them lack few things and i can't consider any of them as perfect alts. Here is list of coins that have solid dev team behind;
1. KMD
2. LISK
3. ETH

I will suggest investing or putting your money in XEM. They have a solid support and even though their price get touched at 300 sats or even lower they successfully bounce back and they are now in 1.4k+ satoshi and i think it will be enough proof to say that it has a solid team support and i also think it is good for investors who want a lesser risk investment.

There are quite alot of coins that have serious support from the dev.  To name some,  Ethereum, Dash, Monero, WBB, Litecoin and a lot more.   These coins are so serious that they had their github too active.   Just pick one from the list and you will have an altcoin that have lots of supportsfrom  its developer.

Decred (DCR):
+ legit
+ solid team support that delivers the features they say they deliver
+ innovative (onchain governance model, well thought through POW/POS concensus)
+ release of stable v1.0 in mid April
+ interesting roadmap for 2017
- pumped lately, so look for price correction before buying some.

I have my investment in this altcoins, ICN, ICOB ETH and DASH, This are some altcoin which are very good in long term as their project are very long term and the output is superb.

I made a little investment in ICONOMI while it was still in the ICO stage and I just forget about it. I am logging it now to see any changes in terms of value. Aside from ICONOMI, I also suggest you go with BCC as it is getting a nice reception and the value is also increasing while the company behind is waiting for bulk Chinese investors which can push the BCC value further. There are really so many scam types of coins now being introduced and being planned to be released to the market since we have an open market for altcoins and you don't need a permit from someone or an authority to make your own. We just have to be careful.

Iconomi and Eth are doing well currently and I will advise you to catch up with  it when the opportunity is fresh before it becomes to late to buy low. You have to be very careful now in buying into a new altcoins as most of them fake the volume and pricing of they coin. Goodluck.

i have seen the icobid developer stick with the altcoin for a good time now
and his being able to provide all the necessary support thanks to his solo efforts , really hope the alt picks up momentum

The original great team is marked by Ethereum. It proof on why this coin is still alive until now. There is nothing to prove if some coin got success with giant marketcap. So here is it, Ethereum is one step behind bitcoin because of the team.

There are so many alt coins there, you need to evaluate them so carefully before investing some money. Choose a coin according to what you like. But for me try ETH , ZCash. There's a lot of investors there.

I have definitely not research all coins out there, so I cannot comment on the suggestions that are already made.
But what I do know is that the team behind GameCredits is as solid and trustworthy as can be. I watched them grow and develop for the past years and the fruits of that hard work are on the brink to disrupt the gaming industry. There is no telling what the price (because that is why most of us are interested, just to make money) will do, though it will most likely rise, but it will definitely be interesting for the gaming community  ;D

Your question is a little illogical.
New coins aren't known to have a solid team support because they are new and there is no proven track record.
You want to pick old coins with a proven track record or new coins started by teams that have proven themselves reliable developing coins in the past.

PIVX. 2,200 engaged Slack community. Extremely active support channels with lead dev support.

As far as i know :

- Failcoin, because their chief is a friend, and he really loves his project, plus they have a great dev.
- Aquarius because their dev is active, really active.
- ETH because they are active, even if they should review their priorities.
- Lisk because they release updates on a steady stream.
- Waves like Lisk
- BTC because it is constant updates, you can even have a live feed at the bitcoin-core-dev IRC chan.

I don't really know for the others, but most of the coins have an active development team, except te scam coins, shitcoins ...

why no one care about spreadcoin, it's a wonderful project and it's receiving a nice addition with master nodes, so add spreadcoin/helium to your list, and pascalite have a nice dev  that is a miner and now his shit, better than many dev here

Dash and NEM are 2 best coins when it comes to scaleability and actual payments.

IMHO Dash has the best team of any crypto and amazing advertising.

I think ICONOMI is going to end up been a scam, a project that at the middle of the game start changing the goal post. I have not seen the expert e the team bring to the table thanks to recent Altcoins rally that made their index to go up. I believe the decision to be buying back the tokens with profit initially design to pay for dividends is wrong and I'm very sure this will not end well because they are not burning the tokens in their possession

It depends on what you mean by team support.

Steem has excellent developers. But their communication skills are truly dire. Sometimes technical skill is not enough, you need the ability to communicate, and you need the ability to market your coin.

IMO Ether is doing so well because they have a great communication team - it is such a good team that they have managed to overcome all the negative publicity associated with teh DAO hacks.

You've said a rarely understood criterion for success: any kind of project/business needs strong communicators. Tech is relatively "easy" to hire but getting the right messages across, translating them accurately, moving momentum against or with sentiment etc. All of that is a little complex and quite difficult to locate and hire.
