I think the reason for the slow start to the ICO is due to the bonus/incentive structure. It is amount based, not time based. When time based there is incentive to buy early, so it usually surges early then slows down a lot over time. With amounts instead there is no reason to invest before the ICO is close to over due to money being locked up if you do, as long as you are still in the first batch of tokens. With the 20+ day ICO this means early investment was very unlikely to happen. (this is just my theory of course, I invested a bit and hope the ICO is successful)

I can remember the name of one I joined, Dark Knights, unfortunately it lost the entire db a month ago. It was even moved to micro earnings in this forum (unfortunate) but that's part of the perception you've to fight if you want to build a similar game.
