Title: Thoughts on Minegate.org?
Post by: Soylent on April 04, 2017, 04:53:18 PM
Hello,
I've invested on their site in 2016 and since then their service works flawless. Now I want to invest more and this site is one of the considered by me. I checked domain info and their domain is registered to 2018 also recently their contracts are sold under kinda suspicious sale:

How would you rate Minegate and do you recommend investing on that site now to anyone?

Reported post. I don't know what are you talking about and the only one shilling here is your account with that low quality signature campaign because of posts like that :)
Thank you, greetings.

My thoughts:

Cloud mining - already biased towards it being a scam.

The most specific detail I was able to find about their company is that "Minegate is a Mining Company Based at Peterborough ON, Canada."
Looking at their WHOIS domain data, they are located at this location. (https://www.google.com/maps/place/2085+Whittington+Dr,+Peterborough,+ON+K9J+6X4,+Canada/@44.258337,-78.3846462,17z/data=!4m5!3m4!1s0x89d58dff7f442301:0xaa8ab4cf281e43fd!8m2!3d44.258337!4d-78.3824575) Funny, I couldn't find any "Minegate Co." around there.

The picture you linked immediately made me think about how much of a ponzi scheme move that was. "Oh yeah, we've been getting a ton of orders recently, so why not give away more power because we're not renting out as much hardware as we'd like!"

Stay away. Sooner or later, that scheme will collapse.

Sophisticated scam but still a scam. Just because they use the same name as the legit website here minergate.com (http://minergate.com) doesn't mean they are legit at all. I wonder why people still ask about cloud mining websites which offer free gigahash to lure people in at first. It is an absolute scam.

Just keep this in mind next time you want to see if a cloud mining website is real or not

Their bitcoin mining address, videos of them showing a tour of their hardware, place where this hardware is put at. If any of these 3 is not met then it is a big red flag the website is a scam.

Thanks. That's what I thought, wanted to hear if it looks suspicious for other people too. Their long time of activity confused me.
Nowadays cloud mining companies are fully transparent with their hardware etc or shady, hiding it's incopentence as it's in this case.

Why so angry? Did he hit a soft spot?
Signatures are a simple paid advertising and people wearing them aren't trying to start a discussion about a business by posing as a client, or a potential client.
You have to excuse forum members for being suspicious but the number of scam sites is overwhelming and the one you're asking about is no different.

Unfortunately cloud mining Ponzis can go on for a really long time and still be scams - for example there was HashOcean, which paid over 1% a day and still managed to pay for a year and a half before disappearing.  If this one has lasted for that long, it might be a selective scam - meaning that it scams you if you put in a large amount of money, but in small amounts it pays to make you put in more later.  These scams are very clever and might even pay some reviewers and commenters to throw you off.

According to their replayment calculator here https://www.minegate.org/repayment
We can double our investment within 1 year with their cloud mining  ::)
This is enough to give red flag to them, mining is not profitable these days and getting over 200% ROI within 1 year is too good to be true.

I agree, with the ever increasing difficulty, and ever increasing competition on mining Bitcoin, a 200% ROI for a cloudmining is too god to be true.  I had experienced with cloudmining and the return keeps on diminishing since the more people are to invest in that cloudmining the more hash they have to provide thus dividing the profit to more people.  I wonder how could the earning be double in one year when our reward is ever decreasing?  If it is a fixed reward for a fix rate of hash then it all tell the story, no more detail discussion is needed, it is a ponzi scheme that will turn out to scam one day.

But who knows until the site keeps paying to its members. We can double our money in one year but at the same time, there are many chances that this site will become the scam. Till now I have seen many cloud mining site most of them are scamming the people.

That is 100% not 200%, 100% of 1 is 2. Still a huge red flag to me tough, you can’t make 100% on mining these days, if they had that chance they would mine for themselves and wouldn’t let us be a part of it.

Many miners do that now, they got enough capital to reinvest on mining equipment and now purely mining for themselves.

It seems you are have invested in wrong place because if you know Minergate is known mining software which now offers cloud mining plans but.... Official website is minergate.com and you have invested in Minegate which is very similat of Minergate and that's main readon to think that they are scams.
Don't invest anything and If you achieve roi, you will be lucky.

- you have no idea who is behind this service, there is no address, no office, no telephone, no contact info beside email
- the only payment method is bitcoin, another loose end
- no photos of mining equipment, only vague information how they are having data centers and using 'German ASICS'
- in case something will go wrong you will have their bitcoin address and email

My thoughts? Minergate.org is not trustworthy enough for me to deposit my coins.

Nowadays cloud mining companies are fully transparent with their hardware etc or shady, hiding it's incopentence as it's in this case.

When I visit the site recently, my browser said 'unsecure' although their use SSL. It's fishy for me and I'm not recommend to use their service or even access the site.

About cloudmining, mostly is shady. If there are trustworthy one(proved their hardware), usually your profit is not as expected, the reason is the difficult of mining increase and their electric bills is not fully transparent.

Better to be careful in their site guys. I've seen many members complaining  in their Facebook Page about their payment being delay or something instantly decreasing their account balance.

Well said, there are many people complaining about their site in facebook page, but most of the cloud mining sites completely creating a lot of Hype in the beginning of their launch. Even people should understand that most of the cloud mining sites get into scam fastly.
