Post by: Dragonizer on April 08, 2017, 08:54:55 AM
Hi

As title, i can not find ONE thread where a person is using a hardware eg Trezor rtc with Electrum ?

If anyone is doing this can they explain what wallet they use and how it operates.

Thanks

I have never used a trezor, but I found this by googling for the two words electrum trezor.

https://doc.satoshilabs.com/trezor-apps/electrum.html

Googling generally gives better results than other search methods. Ironically searching satoshilabs for electrum froze the webpage, and that site provides electrum/trezor setup instructions.

If you want to do your due diligence, and research other's experiences of using trezor and electrum together, then google for the three words trezor electrum bitcointalk. The first result should be a short list of links to bitcointalk threads with a link entitled "More results from bitcointalk.org" at the bottom. Click "More results from bitcointalk.org" to get pages of links to bitcointalk threads about electrum/trezor.

If you have a Ledger Nano S, there is some good documentation on setting it up with Electrum here:

Setting up any hardware wallet with Electrum should follow similar setup I would imagine.

I use Trezors and they work in one word:  flawlessly

The great thing about Trezor + Electrum is full password support.  This means that you can operate Electrum on any online computer and not have to worry about malware stealing your coins.  There are unlimited hidden wallets possible using one single Trezor hardware device while using Electrum.  I also easily add TOR and Electrum onion servers to my mix, so now I also gain anonymous connections for my transactions.  You have the benefit of initializing your Trezor device COMPLETELY offline so you don't have to worry about any compromise during that operation either.  I simply could not be happier with Trezor + Electrum + onion!!
