Title: Calling all Nastypenny Coin owners
Post by: FFrankie on April 09, 2017, 06:23:47 PM
Well I have 1, but I wanted to see if the other 9 where interested in doing a raffle where the prizes are sent to the pennies addresses, but we won't know who won unless someone peeled the coin, but a small entry fee of .0030 and award .01 to 3 pennies

This raffle would only be available to those owning the Nastypenny?

Why else would anyone join if they couldn't potentionally use the winnings?

Why would someone offer a raffle that only 9 people could enter?

Is your math correct?

10 possible entries paying BTC0.003 each equals BTC0.03 total prize purse. And you want to award BTC0.01 to 3 of the pennyholders, which totals BTC0.03 in prize payouts.

Good charity!

If you know the addresses (ability to send to 3 of the 10) and send the funds to three of the coins, wouldn't you know which coins are winners?

The addresses aren't visible on the nastypennies, there is no way to know which address is attached to which coin without peeling it.

I currently have 3 of these and would be willing to play if everyone else wants to.

That makes it even more confusing, if the addresses are not known until the hologram is removed how would you know what address to randomly fund?
Are all the pennies btc addresses listed on the Nasty site?

What bitkilo keyed in on is my question, not whose coin is randomly funded but how to be sure they are the Nasty Pennies.  If there's an address list somewhere for the ten coins that would make sense.

The coins are all funded already so we know the addresses (assuming we trust OGNasty).

They were funded with this transaction: https://btc.blockr.io/tx/info/2fd7597782a983184d1641f6fe5f917f99ba87fde89cde5f481a2ca26d842f25

yep!

So we would know that the payment is sent to three winners
just wont know who that penny belongs to until they peel it!

I would totally enter

Make it interesting instead and have 10 people pay 0.1 and get one of the pennies loaded with 1BTC, now that'd be something.

That would be cool but i can imagine a few of these have already been graded so it would make it tempting to crack that baby open and peel away.

Hehe. I've no idea who owns these but imagine a scenario where that would happen, 9 people decide to peel and it's the 10th that holds the 1BTC. That'll be worth a pretty penny (no pun intended). :)

Have you got a link to these coins, the only bitcoin pennies I can think of were the ones sold in rolls, I can't remember OgNasty releasing his own line of pennies and to a limit of only 10

No link sorry. But yes these were made by ognasty (I think). Loaded with a small amount and limited to 10 pieces :)

This is a cool raffle for the nasty penny owners for sure.

Was it microsoul that had the lucky coin series with BTC1 loaded on a couple of the coins?

Yes it was. It had 10 coins per round. 9 coins were loaded with 0.01 BTC and 1 coin was loaded with 1 BTC.

Here's the original thread. (https://bitcointalk.org/index.php?topic=1710379.0)

These are a hybrid coin. The coin was minted by BitcoinPenny, the holos and keys were added by OGNasty.

Oh liad has two of them? If that is the case I see no point in even hosting such a raffle. Unless you want the chance for 8 other holders to give a scammer more money in his pocket for doing..nothing

It's interesting that this may be happening now, since we were just about to release the 2017 DIY versions later today. ;)

Wonder if OgNasty will be making more of these soon (in the 2017 variety)?

Chris

It's something I'd be willing to discuss with you Chris. I enjoyed doing the last 10 of these and the generator I wrote to create the vanity mini-keys hasn't been touched since I engraved those 10 pennies. If I could think of a way to make the distribution more fun than last time (I have some ideas) I may be willing to participate.

So 8 people have the 10 coins....

I did sell one of mine to another party.

I think the only way this would work is if you had all 10 coins/8 owners participating. ???

This idea is even dead before it starts if it holds true that a known scammer holds one of the ten coins. I honestly can't see any way that this would happen. Unless you all feel that it is fine that a yet again known scammer could win something without even participating. To each their own as they say but it'd be a mighty joke if launched.

Who is this known scammer? I only see 2 users with negative trust in this thread so it's difficult to determine who you're speaking about.

Perhaps there should be trust requirements on any potential future "NastyPenny" releases to help avoid scenarios like this?

and no i wouldn't participate in a raffle where he would win without participating
Unless og knows which one liad has and we can remove that address

I can definitely understand why people wouldn't want to participate unless everyone did, but I am unable to assist as I do not know who currently owns what coin. Sorry.

If there would be another run of these coins what if people paid extras to ognasty and he included it when loading them? That seems like to most fair way to go about it, as well as the safest :).

That'd definitely be something I'd be interested in!

yeah , doing it with killyou wouldn't be fun as we will need escrow to hold the funds

Og is cool , he could call it a raffle. make 16 pennies this time? or 20 (4 dont get in )

I don't even think we need to do a raffle, just randomize it (the raffle doesn't really make sense since nobody knows who wins, I.e it's random). So that would make it possible to be more than 16. 17 would be cool since it's 2017 and all..

That makes sense about the addresses, if we can't get everyone that owns one in on the raffle I'd think it's best to hold off.

You could just randomly distribute them, package them all before loading so you don't remember the addresses, no? I don't see the difference between doing that and hosting a raffle, since the ones buying won't know them either.

Yes, a lot of people missed out on these. To be honest, we hadn't expected such a quick flood of purchases, and we weren't sure if many people would want them, so we only minted those few coins. I do wish we had minted enough for everyone. However, minting more isn't really a problem. The only products we absolutely cannot mint more of is our Special Edition Rolls. I suppose that if enough people are interested in more of these Mini Physicals short rolls, then we could place another order with the mint. Might take a couple weeks to have them in hand.

Regards,
Chris
