I actually had to go back and edit the price in my post, thats how quick it moved.

Any theories as to why? According to my understanding bit coin just got some bad press from the 25,000 BTC theft

BUY BUY BUY

And.....just like that its at 14.8 a few minutes later

Is it normal for a market to have so many more sellers than buyers? Is this happening because of a lack of faith in BTC? Is this a sign that its over valued? Or are the early adopters simply trying to cash in their profits?

It's "normal" for bitcoin (although not as drastic as that usually), it's not normal for most markets. http://bitcoincharts.com/markets/mtgoxUSD_depth.html (http://bitcoincharts.com/markets/mtgoxUSD_depth.html)

Dark pools, bro.
Your right, someone is still snapping them up around $14.

Ever dropped a ball from a roof and noticed what happens when it hits the ground?

According to linear regression theory, it would continue downwards.

According to linear progression theory, it will continue upwards!

It depends... what material is the ball and the ground made of?

MtGOX said they were "cooperating with the authorities" ... is tantamount to them saying "MtGOX was a honeypot for people searching for privacy"

... I think the privacy-conscious money has decided MtGOX is a risk that is not worth it right now ....

anybody got a clue on why both MtGOX and TradeHill have US bank accounts in Delaware? what is special about that state?

Delaware is a major tax and bank haven, right in the mouth of the lion. See, for instance:

http://www.guardian.co.uk/business/2009/nov/01/delaware-leading-tax-haven

Delaware allows you to obscure accountholder names.

Actually... I think I know why.

3PM PST, Dwolla e-mail me (and probably many people) that the bank deposit has finally been cleared.
I have been waiting for this since Monday.

And it would take only 10-15 min. to deposit that into Mt.Gox today.

Short moment afterwards.... $3 spike

Sadly, I'm not monitoring my mail, and miss the mini-rally.

Ha! So the new meme is;

"Oh. so you've got "DELAWARE BANK ACCOUNT" ... nudge, nudge, wink, wink.

... what hypocrits, after trashing Swiss banking privacy laws that are 250 years old and worked just fine, as designed, for protecting customers from predator banks, the US has got the biggest tax shelter on the planet next door to Washington and NY ... US is seriously messed-up in the head.

You do realize mtgox shows 27% of bids from spot down and 73% of asks from spot up, do you?

Bingo!  With all the talk that the weekend brings a drop in prices due to ACH transfers not being processed, my thesis is that everyone has staged money for the weekend in order to take advantage of the drop.  Therefore, I bought today, just ahead of this weekend's surge.  ;)    ...only time will tell if my thesis is correct.

+1

Delaware is actually the biggest tax haven in the world according to the guy who wrote the book on tax havens.
