That would be a good rule to make sure they don't disappear so quickly.  I still have a few of last years DIY coins which are prized in my collection.  :)

As I explained in another thread... Yes, a lot of people missed out on these. To be honest, we hadn't expected such a quick flood of purchases, and we weren't sure if many people would want them, so we only minted those few coins. I do wish we had minted enough for everyone. (Heck, I don't even have one of these rolls!) However, minting more isn't really a problem. The only products we absolutely cannot mint more of is our Special Edition Rolls. I suppose that if enough people are interested in more of these Mini Physicals short rolls, then we could place another order with the mint. Might take a couple weeks to have them in hand. I had hoped to make this our last release for a few months, so that I can focus more on other personal (non-BP) projects. However, I suppose that one more run of these might be a good opportunity for everyone. (Myself included, because I really want one of these rolls!)

What does everyone think about a second, larger run of these? (We may even mark the second run rolls with a little star to note that they were not of the original batch, if that's something that might interest you collectors.)

Would it be possible for you to make them in rolls of 10 or something? Or since these are diy perhaps move away from the rolls entirely and ship them another way? I'd definitely be interested and that and would like to see it as a recurring theme for the diy coins.

Not sure what others would think, but I really love the rolls and hate the idea of opening them just to load some. The canvas bag you sold a while back limited to 10 was an amazing idea as well as product, so I'm sure you'd be able to figure out something cool for this one too. I'm sure people would pay :).

These are not "Limited Edition" or "Special Edition" they are simply limited stock which means they can make more, at the time stock was limited like any other pace you buy stuff on planet earth.

I would say YES to making more stock as its not a "Limited Edition" or "Special Edition" just not enough at the moment, I dont see the need for any special "marks" on the coins for second run at all :)

I agree with buck and I don't feel they would need to be marked since the rolls are special in themselves if they stay sealed.  Others can chime in with their opinion.

I wouldn't mind if more are made. These aren't numbered and it will be fun if DIY was with more people so they could experiment and make new hybrids :D

You're correct, Buck. These were never mean to be "Limited Edition" or "Special Edition" in any way. (In those cases, we will ALWAYS describe the product as such.) We simply had a limited quantity in stock, because we only placed a small order. We didn't know that these Mini Physicals would be so popular. :)

I was planning to take a short break from BP (still on the forums, just not minting or releasing anything new) for a few months while I focus on a personal project, which is why I mentioned that we wouldn't be selling anything more for a long while. But I really don't mind minting another run of these DIY coins. (I'd like to own some too! LOL) As long as enough people are interested in them to justify the second, larger mint run, then we'll do it.

However, I can see how some of our customers may have accidentally thought these were "Limited Edition" or "Special Edition" in some kind of way, then purchased because of that reason alone. In that case, I'm happy to offer a FULL REFUND on your Mini Physicals purchase. Just let me know that you'd like a refund, and I'll issue it immediately.

In the meantime... who is interested in a second mint run of these DIY Mini Physicals? ;D

Thanks for the suggestion, Hhamppy. :) Generally, we prefer to avoid pre-selling products. We did it once last year with a canvas bank bag filled with 100 coins, but all those coins took almost 2 weeks longer to arrive from the mint than expected. None of our customers complained, and they all seemed to understand, but still... On the other hand, it's not like we're sourcing a new product here. We know the source, and we know the quality, so the only chance we'd be taking is with the delivery time.

Is anyone else interested in more of these DIY Mini Physicals?

If you mean smallest with holo, then I'm not sure. But if not, then there are some 1g physical bitcoins that are smaller than these pennies  :)

What was the final number of rolls made?

Hmm... My best ballpark estimate is ~40 rolls. (Make that ~50 if you include our first release of these coins).

Normally, these are rolled as ordered. During the pre-roll / sorting process, I discard any coins that I feel are likely less than MS-63 quality. (It's quite subjective, I know.) I call those our "factory seconds." Luckily, we don't see too many of those, but we do lose a small percentage of our inventory that way. Additionally, many of these coins are sold as singles, so that leaves fewer coins for the rolls. All in all, I'm guessing that we'll have enough coins to make ~40 rolls.

Those are awesome ! It's the perfect gift for someone who know really a little to bitcoin. You give him today , telling him it costs +- 20 bucks , and that the next time they will see them again , their penny will be valued at more than 100. There is not best way to convince someone of the hype of hte bitcoin.

Gave a bunch of Bitcoin Pennies away at the Bitonic BBQ meetup yesterday (as promised when receiving one of the few Bitcoin Penny Bank Bags). People had a blast looking at and playing with them.

Ohh, I had almost forgotten about that canvas bag! That's nice and glad to hear you got to use them Mitchell :). So.. Did you turn any of those guys in to soon-to-be collectors? :D

I think that these pennies has a certain use for just that, getting more people in to collectibles.

I wonder if the other 9 bags have been distributed.

Other than the silly fun of wearing bitcoins inside your penny loafers, that's the main reason we made these coins. At the time, almost all other coins on the market were ~$75 per coin (fine silver), so we decided to tackle the sub-$5 market. (Fun for us, but very little profit! LOL) And we still enjoy that niche, while we've also expanded to include more highly collectible coins too, such as our limited edition, special mint SN coins and Special Edition Rolls.

We love to leave the original CJB, DAVE, and the new IRIE coins everywhere we go. Grocery store parking lots are great places! The beach is great too! This summer we'll be burying a small wooden treasure chest filled with Bitcoin Penny pirate-y goodness on a few east coast beaches. (Might have to send a pirate chest to MJ or someone on the west coast too!)

I think you've done a fantastic job! Your product feels high end when you hold them, not something that is sub $5 (besides the size :D).

I love the idea of the Pirate chests! Damn I wish I was living on the east coast haha. Can't wait to see pictures of that one. Would be fun if you sent some to the west-coast so MJ could battle the others there (I think we have some notable collectors over there). Nice to hear the update anyways. Will you ever make a full size (1oz) coin? Could be a cool suppliment to the pennies. Call it the BitcoinDollar.

Apparently this happens from time to time when you receive a package from USA. I've had a lot of packages sent to me (Sweden) from the US and 9/10 times it works out great but about 1 out of 10 packages gets stuck in customs for roughly 3-4weeks. Nothing much to do other than blame the postal service I guess..

Just placed an order for another roll.  

These coins are awesome. I've been loading them and paying friends debts for nights out, etc. .01 btc at a time and the number of conversations it has spawned already is worth it alone. Easy, cheap way to spread awareness of how simple it is to import a private key and use it as a buying instrument.  I've paid for nights at the pub, dinner, beer, billiards, herbal refreshments, club dues, window tinting, work lunches, & car services so far with these things.  You hit the nail on the head corning the cheap but usable coins. I'm not hesitant to let them go, knowing there are more available...
