Title: Making my own Altcoin
Post by: Mikesmeagher on April 11, 2017, 04:04:39 AM
Hey everyone,

I was interested in forking an open source coin and seeing how I can roll with it and see where it goes (I know easier said than done). I just thought it would be kind of fun (and possibly make a buck or two while I'm at it). Any advice, help, or literally anything would be great. Thanks

First of all op you must know what you are going into. You must have enough knowledge before going into making your own altcoin. It needs alot of money to start with and you need to find for investors for you to support your project.First thing you need to do is to find someone who can help you in making an open source node for your coin and find investors too

I think you'd need to read up a lot of documentation first, secondly you'd need a good dev team as I don't think its a one man work.
Good luck

Firstly you must know how to read and write a programming language especially C and C++ language.
Then you must have a budget for domain, hosting and for your node.
Lastly you must know the responsibility of a altcoin owner.

XCP and ethereum both coins have tokens manufacture, XCP also have exchange desentrilisasi while ethereum with smartcontrac could create tokens, OP might be able to learn beforehand to make tokens and understand more. altcoin pretty easy to make, but it is quite difficult to make a valuable altcoin.
