Paypal announced that they were considering taking Bit Coins as a currency. I presume that is what caused the rise. What is causing the fall however, I can't guess. It trickled back down to 145 and is now right back up to 155 ;)

I was watching bitcoinity markets when the price fall happened, somebody sold so much the price went straight down to $150 and MtGox trading lag went up to 40 seconds. At least it seems to recover slowly.
