the possibility to have all these coins used instead of dumped for bitcoin, all these coins are useless are only there for pump and dump and scam investors, maybe there should be a way to make them useful to purchase something? monero did this right can be used more than bitcoin on the deepweb, but what about all the other? a sub payment gateway can be created to allow users to use these coins, like bitpay for bitcoin, just an idea

MAX_SIZE

When blockchain reaches MAX_SIZE (e.g. 50MB) it should then start a process of hash iterations to keep it that size. Blockchains should be more succinct than they are at this stage of the technology imho.

EDIT: Don't ask me how!

I can give you a list if you want :

- Better distribution
- Complete integration API
- Enhance code quality
- Better Community management
- More user friendly features
- New features
- Expanding to the real world
- Anti Pump and Dump measures
- Anti FUD features
- Anti Scam features

I could make it bigger, but it think that if you can find a crypto who complains with this, she would be aleready on top N°1.

Simple. Use. They lack use. Yes yes you can exchange them and they have value because ooele say it has and there is supply and demand but you can't directly do much with most currencies and having more where you can would be a great innovation and put the coin above others. There are a few thankfully :o

there are a lot of things missing. most important of all which people always forget is real usage!

we are calling them cryptocurrency but none of them (apart from bitcoin, monero and litecoin) have any attribute of a real currency.
when the developers stop thinking about how they can make more money with pump and dump and ICO or premine, then you can see real currencies that can even challenge bitcoin in the future.

I could make it bigger, but it think that if you can find a crypto who complains with this, she would be aleready on top N°1.

BitBay already ticks off a lot on that list, and the constant higher highs and higher lows show that investors are starting to realize that.

- Better distribution

Distrubution is allready better in BitBay than in most coins, and is steadily improving
https://chainz.cryptoid.info/bay/#!rich

- Complete integration API

On roadmap in BitBay

- Enhance code quality

BitBay has some of that as much is written from scratch. Better change system springs to mind imidiatly

- Better Community management

BitBay has implemented voting in it's last update. In fact it has allready been used to vote on a fork.

- More user friendly features
- New features

Plenty of that in BitBay. Amongst others:
-A proper installer to help noobs with the install process
-Safety features like steganography (hide your keys in images) and keylogger defence
-Automated Joint accounts and the ability to sign transactions with 2 computers (hard core security)
-Tor and proxy options for internet requests
-Pay2Mail
-Worlds first decentralized marketplace that amongst otheres has public, private, and 1:1 channels
-Double deposit escrow that eliminates third party
-Full Offer/Counter-Offer negotiation system.
-Escrow panel with tons of options, anonymous chat
-Feedback and reputation system, see how many contracts gained and lost
-Price tracker
-Write your own smart contracts in python (roadmap)

- Expanding to the real world
--Anti Scam features

BitBay is getting ready for that as it solves a very fundamental problem; eliminating the profitability of scaming. Double deposit escrow is the perfect solution for any safe dealings with people you have no reason to trust. Besides the obviuos advantage in a marketplace, there are lots of other use cases . For instance you could use it as front or back end for localbitcoins, binary option trading etc.

- Anti Pump and Dump measures

That is exactly what the rolling peg (roadmap) is designed to do. It will allow price to move, but be a countermeasure for P&D games.

- Anti FUD features

Now that would be interresting. If anyone has an idea I'd love to hear it  :D

how about some real development!
i keep seeing even brand new members asking about "what you want in a cryptocurrency" as a social experiment to see what others are looking for that they can "only claim" their altcoin has. and never really do anything release whatever they feel like the community may like and buy and price gets pump of it.

for example if mostly say "anonymity" they will go ahead and copy one of the anon coins and release it in a short while with a new name.

so i say what is lacking is some real developers who do some real work not just pretend to do it.
a coin that is really offering some useful features, not just what "THEY" call useful.

-need smart phone wallet that easy to use by dummy and work on all platform
-block chain sync is issues as it get large. not everyone has 100 MB internet
-fair distribution - currently all large corp mine quickly and never reach to individual miners

usage. that's the be all and end all. none of them are being used. bitcoin is a small percentage of utility versus the rest being speculation.

Are we talking about all coins including bitcoin or just altcoins ? Which ones are excluded ?
I think if bitcoin is included than mainstream ease of use would be the start, I understand how it all works but not my market, not my grocery store, not my pharmacy, make it more mainstream and easy to use to make it accepted everywhere.

If we are just talking about altcoins than probably technological advance in a scale so huge that people eventually will stop using bitcoin, many tried, many failed.

well said, most altcoins ultimate survival depends on how active the developers are with their projects and most users only think of dumping their altcoin bounties for btc
which is not suppose to be the case, independence is one of the main attributes most alts lack to be self sufficient to grow...

Cryptocurrencies also lack support from major merchants to help them grow and be used on daily basis like fiat would be used.
