I just tried to setup the latest version (2.8.2 for windows Standard) of Electrum Wallet. I wanted to set a password. I clicked on the wallet tab, then the password tab. A box opened which allows me to insert a password, new password, and to confirm password. I never established a password. So consequently, I typed in my only password in all three places. Then I got a "Invalid Password" error message. How do I solve this issue, Please help!!!! I hope to hear from you really soon..... I hope to hear from you really soon..... Is this a new wallet or are you reusing an older wallet? It should only prompt you for a password if you added a password on the wallet. I believe the initial setup wizard asks if you want to password protect the wallet though, so you have may enabled one via that when setting up the wallet. Is there any other cold computer-based wallet I can download quickly??? If you have no funds in the wallet, you could also always try creating a new wallet via File -> New/Restore I experimented with creating a wallet with a blank password in the latest electrum. When I opened the wallet file it wasn't encrypted, everything was human readable including the seed, xprv, and xpub. There was also a field marked "use_encryption": false. When making a new wallet you have to create, then re-enter your seed before you create a password. The OP can solve his problem by creating a new wallet, entering his seed into it, and leaving the password blank. A password isn't needed to restore an old wallet from a seed.
