Title: The mother of all Hardforks
Post by: Quantus on April 12, 2017, 05:29:04 AM
For eight years now the Bitcoin community has been trying to find a way to insure its scalability while maintaining its security and its usability.

And for eight years now regardless of the tireless debate and unbound effort of some of the smartest people in the world to solve this problem, and to find that perfect path forward, we have failed.

Its not for for the lack of effort or knowledge or intelligence.

The problem I suppose is that we all demand perfection. We all want to get to that promised land of a perfect system. And that system can be built and it will be built I have no doubt, It will happen!

But will Bitcoin be that system, can we get there from here; thats the question I'm asking myself tonight.

Is it even possible to salvage our ledger, our blockchain our history, what I now think of as our soul to supplant that into a new body?

The mother of all forkoffs, will be the transfer of BTC from all the retards who think Bitcoin is not already perfect as it is, to those who not retards.

The information is available (https://bitcointalk.org/index.php?topic=1857162.msg18554036#msg18554036) for your edification. LN is coming and it will be good for the BTC price (https://bitcointalk.org/index.php?topic=1857162.msg18554559#msg18554559). But LN is never coming to Bitcoin.

You've been warned.

preserving the idea of satoshi is what i can call the mother of all HF, don't change the rules at will because you think they are better

try to maitaining bitcoin as it is, and add only what it's needed to make it accepting a wider usersbase, if you tink about ti bitcoin only luck this at the moment

if the only solution for now is segwit + LN everyone should just accept it via consensus, when a better one will be found it can be implemented additionally or on top of that

no one said that bitcoin could not have many simultaneously ways of scaling

Human demand is unlimited and it can never be fulfilled. And i think this limitless human demand is one of the cause for current block size debate which may lead us to split of bitcoin network and community.

Nothing can be perfect/idle and same goes for bitcoin, it has most community support while it still lags fast confirmation and fee is rising very fast in terms of both BTC and fiat.
