Title: Restore mnemonic phrase (QUITING JAXX WALLET)
Post by: toygg on April 12, 2017, 11:53:11 PM
I am quitting jaxx wallet since they would not want to solve the stupid max spendable bug for btc. How do I migrate to other wallet with the 12 words mnemonic phrase?

You didn't mention on what platform you are using the wallet but the seed should work for Mycelium (Android), Exodus (Desktop - Multi coins) or CoPay (desktop + mobile). Jaxx also follows BIP39 If I'm not wrong, so restoring in Electrum (by checking the option "BIP39 seed" should give you the ability to recover your coins too)

Thanks! Tried out the Exodus wallet. It is clean and simple but then it did not recover my ethereum correctly.

Here is their slack: https://exodusmovement.slack.com/messages (mention @daniel_castagnoli there since he is one of the developers)

I tried this jaxx->electrum and verified it works.  so good on jaxx for proper bip39 implementation.  on electrum, it found the addresses but unfortunately I didn't see an option to view the imported seed, which is weird.

I'm not sure why electrum isn't just using bip39 for all seeds.
