Title: Question regarding ETH rig motherboard
Post by: se7snator on April 13, 2017, 01:16:18 AM
Hi there buddies!  :) :)

I'm still a noob in this matter, so please bear with me.  :(

I plan to setup my ETH rig with 3 x RX 480 - 4GB .. But the ASROCK H61 BTC is not available in my country, neither any similar motherboard.. And my only option widely available is Gigabyte GA-P81-D3 Socket 1150, It has 1 x PCI Express x16 & 1 x PCI Express x1 == 3 Slots total (Which I only need).

I've done some researches. ppl saying that it doesn't support crossfire. :( .. So it will not boot up all the three GPUs? or I'm understanding this in a wrong way.

Thanks, and again. Please excuse my ignorance :)

Crossfire has nothing to do with mining, what you only need to take care of when you buy your mobo is the no.of slots x16 or x1 , for x1 slots you should get raisers , and i think as there isn't h81 pro btc in your country , you will not find x1 to x16 also , so better get a mobo with 3 x16 pcie.

In some countries shipping and customs make it more easy and cheap to get a mobo with x16 slots and don't buy the raisers from amazon or ebay
