Why would you cancel your bid? I could have left the line out and still bid on my alt account, theymos has stated that before, I think I actually have it linked in the OP of one of my auctions.

You can clearly see if I bid or not with my alt, having that 1 rule avoids the 20 other silly ones I could have put up.

I don't understand why you would bid without reading, Its not even that much text. So I can cancel your bid for a fee of .01 BTC if you would like or someone outbids you in the next week.

What we don't need is another seller/maker bidding up their own auctions.....

Why would anyone bid when you can just outbid them and keep the item???

And how are you enforcing the "bid cancellation" fee?? 

Is this auction still going or was this piece included in the lot you sold mj in the other thread?

I am not enforcing the bid cancellation fee, but I got a ton of shit of bidding on auctions and canceling my bid and getting shit for it, but it looks like if TMAN does it, it is totally okay right.

If I wanted to keep them, why would I be auctioning them.

I could have started this at my reserve, which I would have not needed that rule, but TMAN's bid is technically the highest because I won't "honor" him canceling, as sure as I am sure if he wins he will not "honor" his bid, but his bid of .06 BTC went past my reserve so my alt won't be bidding, but I am not going to be changing the rules/anything about this auction.

I have no issues with that rule. Since you at least stated it in the op. But perhaps for next time you could state that it was meant to meet your reserve and no other shenanigans. As said, at least you were upfront about it and not like some others that have bid on their own auctions without letting people know or used alts.

On a serious note... Yes, it's better to start with a high reserve. Bidding on your own auction under a different name (known or not) is called "shill bidding," (one of the many types, but most obvious) and it's generally considered a type of con perpetrated by untrustworthy ne'er-do-wells, which is why it's against the rules at auction houses (online or physical brick-and-mortar). Obviously, you didn't realize this, or you would've never done it. But now you know, and it's an easy lesson learned. Just set a reserve price next time -- the lowest you'll take. It's as simple as that. :)

Are these copper doodles come with a paper one aswell ?

I can recall a post where theymos says its okay to use alts to bid on your own auctions because you didn't say you wouldn't.

Are you going to accept that bid? Unless it's your account it is clearly someone that might be trying to make fun of you. Considering the name and the fact you had this rule in place. It was created today and this was the first post it made. I'll stay away from this auction until you have made up your mind regarding that.

Short Answer: These copper doodles are one-off originals, with no paper copy.

Long Answer: Well, technically, everything, including my signatures front and back, were originally drawn on paper, then photographed, made digital, imported into Photoshop, then meticulously second-layer traced by me to create a digital doodle, which was then saved and provided to the copper artisan for engraving. So these doodles were hand-drawn, then digitally drawn (traced) by me. Unfortunately, only a few of the original paper doodles / sketches survived, and I didn't think it would be fair to include them with their matching Copper Doodles if everyone didn't get one. I hope that makes sense. :-\

True. But allowing something simply because you didn't state that you wouldn't is a ridiculous opinion. For instance, in this auction thread, you didn't state that you wouldn't steal the high bidder's BTC and send him an empty box, but that doesn't make it right if you were to do so. I'm sure you understand now. Just set a high reserve next time, and all will be good. :)

I agree right or wrong just set the auction start at the lowest price you would accept.  No bids it doesnt sell no harm, ive seen with hidden reserves for most items people shy away from or with known "own" bids because you dont know if you are getting played or not.  Just my opinion

shameless plug for satoshiauctions.com - you can set reserve or do silent auctions even - Understandably there is no good way to do a reserve via forum auctions here, as by their nature reserves are supposed to be secret. A minimum bid amount is not the same thing a reserve, in other words. Nonetheless, it is not good form to use an alt to bid up, but I think that is why it is not explicitly banned here, it is a grey area to accommodate reserves. Anyways, satoshiauctions.com  :D
