If there is cold outside, they prepare sauna/bath house and feel very good after then. But if you go to public sauna/bath house in Finland or Germany, you can evaluate many naked females too. So may be it is more funny to use public sauna/bath house instead of your home sauna/bath if you live in Finland or Germany. Even your wife most probably will accept public sauna/bath house.

And my wife will not be allowed into public saunas so that no one stared at her, and then there is little that can happen.

Nearest sauna to my house is around maybe 50 kilometers in one direction, and that is big distance. I don't know why, but there is non in my city. I think its healthy to go to sauna every once in a while. And its only natural to see other people there too. There is no reason why we should be ashamed of our bodies, and there is always towel for people who like privacy a bit.
