Hey guys, I have been getting into the Bitcoin/altcoin world a bit lately and I would like to know if any of you could recommend some good books about bitcoin.

Hi kaijser one of the best book is Mastering Bitcoin by Andreas Antonopoulos. Good read it worth.
You can find also a lot of translation if you don't want read it in english.

The whitepaper is not an easy read as first impact.
Moreover I will suggest also to read the bibliography citation.
it's full of reference that can give a better idea why bitcoin was developed and how it work!


You can find a lot of answers for most of your doubts ;)

You don't need a book to understand what bitcoin is. It is a waste of time reading those books unless you want to learn everything about its history and other useless information. The information you need is not bigger than a one page article.

You can even up yourself to date by reading this forum.

Thanks for your response. I have been active on internet forums for a long time and in my opinion a lot of people sleep on the fact that online communities can provide unique and valuable information, which is why I came to this forum to begin with. At the moment I'm reading as much as I can.

Regarding my choice of purchasing a book, I agree. I'm not expecting a book that teaches me how to trade, I just want to have some valuable background information and read other interesting stories about Bitcoin/cryptocurrency. I'll be going on holiday soon and I just want to have something to read poolside. 

I agree with all of the members above have proposed the book of Andreas Antonopoulos which is an excellent one in this category. On the other side I believe that is more suitable for coders as the author writes in the preface of his book. In my personal opinion about two months ago I was enrolled in a MOOC of Princeton University which was offered in Coursera platform and I would propose at first, if you can afford the money, this  (https://www.amazon.com/Bitcoin-Cryptocurrency-Technologies-Comprehensive-Introduction/dp/0691171696) book which I consider that is more general and introductory in bitcoin world.

bitcoin beginer with coinable is a good book , its good for someone who want to learn alot about bitcoin or building website with bitcoin payment

I have this book in PDF format (got it from one of my friends). I'd say it contains tons of information about Bitcoin. 

I recommend "The Age of Cryptocurrency" and "Digital Gold" excellent books.

My best one was "Digital Gold" by Nathaniel Popper, if you are into the non-technical story behind Bitcoin. The Internet of Money by Andreas M. Antonopoulas is good, but not as good as the first book I have mentioned. I like the books that gives you the biography and the inside about the role-players behind this journey and not all the technical boring stuff.

I am more the people person, than the code Junkie. ^smile^

Lol, don't buy the book with the payment. Check the eBook called mastering in bitcoin. You could find in the Google search result itself.
