Title: Two years later: a great big fucking mess.
Post by: RawDog on April 15, 2017, 07:11:17 AM
...and you guys like this open source bullshit?  The fighting is insane.  The disorganization is insane.  The progress is zero.  BU/SegWit is a total impasse.

I think Microsoft should deploy a Bitcoin version and organize a team of coders with a board of directors who know how to get shit done and take decisions.  The love for 'decentralization' is nonsense.  This idea to fight it out in the wild is the least efficient thing I have ever witnessed.

Bitcoin is fucked.

Bitcoin is supposed to be pretty much immutable, barring some very high-consensus decisions like fatal bugs.

Unfortunately there's not much chance of Bitcoin ever reaching a serious consensus on something that's really debatable like this decision because there will always be corruption on both sides and hashpower, even from monopolies, will be from people on different sides.

Do you really think that if microsoft deplay a bitcoin version and organize fully then will it be good for crypto community. I think then bitcoin will become another altcoin which is controlled by the developer and they can do what ever they want to manipulate the market. Then the real reason of using bitcoin will become useless. because anytime microsoft can disclose the full details about the users of bitcoin and their activities

I thought everyone already knew Bitcoin is meant to be the way it is right now...

Believe me, if Bitcoin wasn't anonymous and decentralized it wouldn't have had such a big market cap and price. We would've seen just pumps and dumps and that's all.. BTC will always remain the best. It was, is and always will be the one. If you like centralized stuff, we can go to any bank and there you have it..

Wouldn't be good for the crypto community.  Doesn't mean that it wouldn't be adopted by them.  I don't think that miners have as much principle as you think, especially when a takeover would result in more adoption from people who potentially have less principle themselves.

Bitcoin can't be an altcoin, the literal definition is an alternative cryptocurrency (alternative to Bitcoin).  It's impossible.
