Unless NASA finds a planet entirely made up of Gold or Diamond, funding to Space Exploration should be cut.

Unless NASA finds a planet entirely made up of Gold or Diamond, funding to Space Exploration should be cut. Scientists at Yale University have discovered a planet whose surface is composed of graphite and diamond. It is two times larger and eight times heavier than Earth. The surface of this planet is covered, rather, with graphite and diamond. Planet was named 55 Cancrie. This is one of the five celestial bodies orbiting a star similar to the Sun, in the constellation of Cancer. It is relatively close to our planet at a distance of 40 light years, and it can be seen from Earth even with the naked eye. The temperature there is 2,148 thousand degrees Celsius. Do you have any idea how much technology developed through the space industry has filtered down to every day use? Inc. medical, fire fighting equipment, motor vehicle tech, satelite TV, GPS, mine clearing tech the list goes on and on. It does appear to be a carbon planet with no H, so the deduction about diamond matter is likely correct. |
