Title: Best Mining software for GTX 1080?
Post by: squatz1 on April 16, 2017, 04:49:42 PM
I want something easy to use besides Nicehash that would be paying out a good amount of money per day. Usually at the moment on Nicehash I'm making about $3 per a 24 hour time if I'm going to be mining whatever they put forward to me.

So, if I'm able to get over that on an average of like a 7 day period (time frame I'm paid on Nicehash) then I would gladly change the mining software I use.

Thank you!

You could try mining using EWBF's miner from here - https://drive.google.com/open?id=0B9EPp8NdigFianNlcUh0YWFhOVE

Then run it with the following command: miner --server equihash.usa.nicehash.com --pec --user YOURBITCOINADDRESS --pass x --port 3357
You might want to change servers to whatever is closest. Check on nicehash's website for pool addresses.

Then try MSI afterburner to adjust clocks and memory speed if you want to fine tune things

This way you are in control and mining just ZEC without any switching, but are still using nicehash and getting paid in BTC's :)

Do you think this would really cause a gain in the amount of bitcoin I'd be getting as I would expect Nichash to go to the most profitable contact for my 1080 and to pay me according to that?

Also, do I have to mess with afterburner as I only mine at night with the 1080 and use it during the day for my own gaming / school and so on.

Thanks by the way.

of course it would be more profitable to mine eth or zec directly instead of asking nicehash to convert to btc.
some people were saying that nicehash underpays by 8-12%, which is understandable since it is not a charity.
They want to be paid for the conversion.
Why not mine in zec directly to polo address, then convert to btc at your leisure and pay 0.15-0.25% fee instead.

Nicehash is a service that provides a very convenient tool. Personally I find their cut to be reasonable.  You may already have known, but Nicehash does allow you to select which algorithms to mine and you can limit it to only mine ZEC and nothing else if you like.

You can just try it for 24 hours and see how things look. Nicehash has decent statistics and profit's shown on their webpage

This is just mining ZEC only with no profit switching at all.
That command to run EWBF is what sets your miner to do equihash and point it directly at the correct server at nicehash

Another alternative would be to mine over at Dwarfpool or somewhere else - http://dwarfpool.com/zec
