As far as I know users are free to chat or make calls as long as connected to the internet. They don't have a computer money. If you're talking about WECHAT OUT CALLS where a user can make calls to landlines and mobile, you need to top-up your WeChat Out account using USD or your currency to have call credits.

May I ask, where did you heard about WeChat having their own currency?

This is totally a strange question for us , it is because I  before never heared such type of question , well here you just need to think yourself that the WeChat or WhatsApp like popular apps for social messaging are not andle by a single person , A big group of members are handling and improving , so probably there are chances that few of them knows about bitcoin or cryptocurrency , but still here I don't think that there is any connections between the WeChat and bitcoin like things directly for my payment system .
