Title: Mining motherboards Post by: Jdope on April 17, 2017, 11:45:09 AM So i know this might have been discussed a few times but currently almost every place in the world is sold out of h81 pro btc, even the 2.0 version is sold out. So what motherboards are you guys using in new builds? I'm looking for motherboards that can take 5 GPUs, i think 6 is a bit of an overkill for most regular motherboards.
Title: Re: Mining motherboards Post by: Bones972 on April 17, 2017, 11:57:10 AM I am running a Gigabyte GA-Z97X on one rig and an Asrock Fatality 970 on the other. Had the Gigabyte in my gaming rig to begin with but the Asrock was a fresh build and was reasonably priced with an AMD cpu. I have been running 5 GPU's on each with no problems.

Does anyone have a good suggestion for that? And if so, what special settings and install do I have to do to make it all work. I keep seeing all these different posts about it all, and I can't figure out how to get 6 cards working on my mobo's. And I can't get more than 4 cards to work at once. I have all RX470's, 4GB versions, does that make a difference? I use an m2 for Windows 10 which is nice since it doesn't need sata data or power cables connected so a little less clutter. With Ryzen CPUs being pretty decent miners that makes them an interesting option as prices come down... provided that the motherboards can actually handle 5-6 GPUs.
