Title: Electrum & Ledger Nano S
Post by: Bodyworks on April 18, 2017, 03:08:12 AM
Hi folks,

i bought a Ledger Nano S to store my BTC on a hardware wallet. I think i'm a little bit more safe than on cloud based wallets.
The Ledger Nano S has to be administrated by a google app. I don't like this concerning privacy because nobody really knows what kind of infos google gets.

In Ledger Nano S i created 5 Accounts for different income streams - keep things transparent.
When trying to connect Ledger Nano S to Electrum, only 1 Account is visible.
Is there any possibility to import more than 1 account from ledger?

Thanks for help.
Bodyworks.

I believe you can do multiple accounts from the ledger by specifying the BIP44 account number as shown

First create a new wallet and select "Use hardware device"

Then enter the index of the wallet on the ledger you wish to use
https://s3.amazonaws.com/groovehq/uploaded/54cm8i66t1xdxpl2i49mu11khmu5w0gzp9siobf876rnq7bkbg?1475571017

You'll want to increment this number by 1 to access each next wallet on the device during the wallet creation phase.

You'll want to increment this number by 1 to access each next wallet on the device during the wallet creation phase.

Choosing 0 to 4 made the trick. You then have 5 instances of electrum. Each address is a separate wallet.
