Lol at "gus".  What planet are you from and how do you define "abroad"?

Litecoin is only hot in the hands of a very small number of speculators,  and it's probably only a few countries like China that are leading.  What does it matter to you,  anyway?  Or did you just feel like starting another shit topic with a shit question.

And does it matter where it is being hot and where it is not? Because I think the value will be the same no matter wherever you are.

Yeah, where are you from? This is an international forum.

LTC has been around for a long time. It's not currently accepted by many retailers as actually currency, but it still trades and the value is stable. Think of it this way, LTC is to Bitcoin as silver is to gold.

The short answer to your question is: No, LTC is not very hot.

Since SegWit is moving to LiteCoin a lot of hype from speculators is driving the investors in Alt Coin in the direction of LiteCoin recently, but a Chinese Asswipe with some hash power are trying to block SegWit now, so the price seems to be dropping since this was announced. < by a very small percentage >

So it is all hype and speculation at this stage. ^smile^

All cryptocurrencies are traded everywhere (except where they're illegal, in which case the trading happens in private instead).  So it doesn't matter what countries they're traded or spent in because they can be traded and spent anywhere.

Litecoin is pretty popular right now, but it's still below even DASH, which is pretty bad considering all it's doing is dead cat bounces right now.  The reason that Litecoin has just had a popularity boost is because it's possible SegWit will be activated on there, so a lot of people who support it on Bitcoin but don't expect it to happen are rushing down there.  It probably won't happen though, and it looks like Jihan Wu (the mining monopolist) is trying to block it by directing all of his hash power against it, so I think it'll stay on about 70% and never actually manage to activate, which will result in the price dropping back down at least a little bit soon.  Litecoin is pretty stable though, it's a very legitimate long-running coin which has been around since less than 2 years after Bitcoin and you can be sure it won't totally collapse, even if it drops way back to 0.004 or so.

Foreigners trade LTC on different altcoin exchange like poloniex, bittrext and many more. You just need to create account to that sites and you just need to deposit litecoin, if you already have litecoins and you can easily sell it for bitcoin but if you don't have yet then you need to deposit bitcoin then you can easily buy litecoins as much as you can.

Bitcoin after the BU crisis creating a big price drop and losing control retained getting more support for Segwit. In the meantime LTC got close to the segwit activation. Based on this a hype got generated. The same hype made few think it as hot. Truly how high it grows doesn't matter, but the hype happened because experts mentioned that if LTC gets segwit activation first it will serve as an testbed to have a better understanding on bitcoin.

Is it really hot? I thought LTC  was dead a long time ago. It may have bounced the past week by I think it is just hype and nothing else. It will die again after the hype is over.

You are already a junior member not a newbie how come you do not know how to trade crypto currency, you can download a desktop wallet or go to any reputable exchange and buy some litecoin there, and yes litecoin is very hot right now because of the on going development like segwit implementation, but better follow good coins also not only litecoin.

LTC is not that hot just like you think. Go to poloniex.com , get some bitcoin and deposit in the site and start purchasing LTC like theres no tomorrow.

litecoin is a pump and dump scheme, was pumped because of segwit but i don't believe in this pump, will crash sooner or later, and i suspect that bitmain is pushing the value higher to sell their new asic which are very profitable to mine with

i think LTC is just a copy of BTC, there's no innovation indeed, except for scrypt

Almost all exchanges have LTC in their portfolio. This is a good thing because makes it an asset with relative liquidity. All the recent hype (or "hotness") is due to the expectation of SW implementation in LTC network/protocol. If all of this will continue after this question is answered, we'll have to wait to see. I believe that the openbazaar thing is more important to LTC than SW.

Yes it is hot now a day. It was low some time ago but now they have come with some new things.

Some people may think of it as a fake hype or exaggeration but they may be wrong. As if the litecoin may have worked on their coin and have come with some good strategies for the development of the coin which is quite good for them in present and even in future.

I believe litecoin is going to get segwit activated very soon and we can see price climbing near 0.02 btc also. As of now investing into litcoin probably profitable.
